Before you begin posting photos and videos, it is important to review Instagram’s two

account types and to choose the one that is best for you:

Private account: Only your followers (those that you have allowed) will be able to see your

photos and videos.

Public account: Anyone will be able to see your photos and videos.

Your posts will be searchable based on hashtags and viewable to other Instagram users.

Using a Hashtag Hashtags (#) are used in front of a relevant word or phrase (no spaces) to help make your

picture more searchable.

Limit yourself to a maximum of 3-5 hashtags per post.

Here are some Thirty-One branded hashtags that will make your content searchable.

Brand Specific: #thirtyone, #thirtyonegifts, #31Conference

Product: #31uses, #31JK, #31Jewell

Gives & Philanthropy: #31Gives, #31share

Party: #31party

Consultant: #31why, #31consultant

Page 13: Instagram

What types of content should you post?

Your account should be a mix of personal and Thirty-One product based pictures taken with

a camera.

Images such as social graphics or pictures with copy should be used on social

channels such as Facebook and Google+.

A good rule of thumb is that 80% of the content you share should not be about your

business. If all you post is about your business, your content likely won’t be engaging

enough to truly connect you to your audience.

Sharing others’ photos On Instagram, you may see the word, ‘regram’ in a caption of a photo. This means that the photo

was created and reposted (regrammed) by an Instagram user.

When using pictures that are not yours, make sure to give credit to the creator (unless a picture is

provided to you by Thirty-One).

Quick tips on giving credit

Caption Option 1: Love @stellabrate

before and after picture on home

organization! #thirtyone

Caption Option 2: In need of an office

makeover? See how Thirty-One can

help you de-clutter and organize in a

breeze! #Regram: @stellabrate

Reposting using the Repost App will

add the original poster’s username to

the photo you regram.
