INDIVIDUAL MOUNTING (KIT SOLD SEPARATELY )

STEP 1: Attach cable supports to ceiling at 46.5” spacing. Adjust all cable supports to require hanging height before proceeding. See Figure 2.

STEP 2:Position the luminaire on two end foam packaging blocks while on the floor or suitable working surface. Insert the suspension tabs into the powered end cap slots. Connect the power end cap from LN-EC as shown in Figure 3. NOTE: Leave protective film in place until after the Luminaire is suspended and leveled.

STEP 3:Loosen joining plate screw using provided Allen wrench to allow nonfeed end cap to assemble. Connect the non-power endcap as shown in Figure 4 to end of luminaire using provided Allen wrench.

STEP 4:Raise luminaire to mounting height while supporting both ends. Attach Y-cable to suspension tabs by inserting paddle from outside to inside of the hanging tab. (See Figure 5). Suspension tabs on non-powered end are located in luminaire body and should be positioned next to the non-powered end cap. See Figure 6.NOTE: Level luminaire per cable support instruction sheet.

STEP 5:Connect wiring from powered endcap to AC power supply per the Electrical Connection section.

STEP 6:Remove protective film on lenses prior to activation. Use soft gloves to prevent fingerprints and scratches.

MULTIPLE LUMINAIRE MOUNTING (KIT SOLD SEPARATELY)

NOTE: These luminaires can be used for continuous row mounting: 12 units (48ft) max at 120 Vac, 34 units (136 ft) max at 277 Vac. CREE Emergency lighting inverter installation: 3 units (12ft) max at 120 Vac or 277 Vac (full output). 12 units (48ft) max at 120 Vac (5% output). 34 units (136ft) max at 277 Vac (5% output).

STEP 1: Attach cable supports with y-cables to ceiling. See Figure 7. Following spacing requirements:

• Starting and ending aircraft cable must be within 18" of end of row.

• First 8 ft section: 95" apart.• Additional 8 ft sections: 96" apart.

Adjust all cable supports to required hanging heights before proceeding.

STEP 2: Loosen joining plate screw and allow joining plate to open fully. Join two 4 ft luminaire sections together by positioning two luminaires end-to-end on top of foam blocks from packaging. Slide luminaires together, the joining plate will hang below. See Figure 8. Tighten the two screws provided in the joining plate to draw the two luminaires firmly together using Allen wrench provided in LN-EC kit. Loosen both screws 1 full turn to set rough level. See Figure 9. NOTE: These screws will be used to adjust the alignment of each luminaire section once suspended.

STEP 3: Attach power endcap from LN-EC kit to end of first luminaire. Power feed direction is from the male contact electrical connector end (opposite of joining plate). See Figure 3.

STEP 4: For Single 8 ft Section Installation: Attach non-power endcap to opposite end of luminaire as shown in Figure 4 and proceed to Step 9 below.

For Continuous Row Installation of 8 ft Sections: proceed to Step 6 below.

STEP 5: Suspend 8 ft luminaire section by attaching the suspension tabs to the already installed y-cables’ hanging hardware.

STEP 6: Join additional 8 ft runs per Step 2, in the multiple mounting section. It is not recommended to install in 4ft section, join two luminaires and install as a unit.

STEP 7: Raise additional 8 ft run, attach to existing run. See Figure 8 (minus foam inserts) and Figure 9. Ensure joining plate screws are

fully tightened. These will be adjusted later. Attach Y-Cable to suspension tabs (See Figure 5 or 6). NOTE: To continue a series installation, repeat Step 6 and 7 to the end of the run. If run is complete, skip to Step 8.

STEP 8: Attach the non-powered endcap to the end of the last luminaire in the series as shown in Figure 10. Secure with two screws present in the joining plate and tighten firmly. See Figure 11.

STEP 9: Align and level each 4 ft section in the installation for a uniform look. First confirm that all of the Y-cables are set at the same height from floor. Then adjust the alignment of each 8 ft section by tightening or loosening the joining plates ( See Figure 9) until the entire series is in line. See Figure 12 - 14.

Level (See Figure 12):• If joint is high, loosen both joining plate

screws ½ turn each and repeat until straight.

• If joint dips low, support joining plate

and tighten both joining plate screws ½ turn each. Repeat until straight.

Side to Side (See Figure 13 on the next page):

• If joint pulls right – loosen right joining plate screw ½ turn and tighten left joining plate turn ½ turn.

• If joint pulls left - loosen left joining plate screw ½ turn and tighten right joining plate Screw ½ turn.

• Repeat until 8ft section is straight, viewing from top.

Tilt (See Figure 14 on the next page):• Place the center packing cradle on top

of the fixture to support a level.• Use the 3/32 hex key to tighten the

screw in the bottom of the Y-cable to secure.

STEP 10: Connect wiring from powered endcap to AC power supply per the Electrical Connection section on page 3. While wearing soft cotton no scratch gloves remove protective film on lenses prior to activation.

STEP 2: Insert square-neck bolt into Side 1 of T-bar clip.

STEP 3: Place Side 1 of the T-bar clip around T-bar. Snap Side 2 into place, securing the clip and bolt to the T-bar. See Figure 15.

STEP 4:Secure T-bar clip to the building structure above with customer supplied wire or other appropriate means.

STEP 5:Secure Cover Plate to T-bar clip with 1/4-20 keps nut. For drop ceiling tile use plastic spacer to offset Cover Plate. When installing Cover Plate, take care to orient ground wire down and conduit knockouts facing up 90° from T-bar. See Figure 16.

STEP 6:Remove one of the knockouts on the Cover Plate.

STEP 7:Cut clearance hole in the ceiling tile to match the hole in the Cover Plate. Make certain that the hole is large enough to clear the power supply connector (customer supplied).

STEP 8:Install ceiling tile.

STEP 9:Bring electrical power into canopy using customer supplied flexible conduit, BX, or Romex and secure to the Cover Plate. Make electrical connections in canopy.

STEP 10:Thread 1/4-20 hex nut onto square neck bolt about half way up the bolt.

STEP 11:Loosen Canopy Collar and slide down cable. Slide Canopy over coupler. See Figure 17.

STEP 12:Tighten coupler onto square neck bolt against 1/4-20 hex nut. See Figure 17.

STEP 13:Trim cable and cord to desired mounting height plus 8 in. Strip cord sheathing back to reveal 6 in of leadwire.

STEP 14:Raise luminaire to mounting height and feed cable toggle clips through suspension tabs. See Figure 18.

LN-CK-0-AC: INTER-ROW SUSPENSION KIT INSTALLATION (KIT SOLD SEPARATELY)

T-BAR MOUNT/SURFACE MOUNT
