Unpackthegrillimmediatelyafterreceipt.Ifthemachineisfoundtobedamaged,savethepackagingmaterialandcontactthecarrierwithinfifteen(15)daysofdelivery.ImmediatelycontactGlobeoryourlocaldealeroftheequipment.You have no recourse of damage after fifteen (15) days.

PROPER GROUNDING

THIS MACHINE IS PROVIDED WITH A THREE-PRONG GROUNDING PLUG. THE OUTLET TO WHICH THIS PLUG IS CONNECTED MUST BE PROPERLY GROUNDED. IF THE RECEPTACLE IS NOT THE PROPER GROUNDING TYPE, CONTACT AN ELECTRICIAN. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, CUT OR REMOVE THE THIRD GROUND PRONG FROM THE POWER CORD OR USE ANY ADAPTER PLUG (Fig. 5-1 and Fig. 5-2). (Outlet and plug shown below are a representation and may not reflect the correct NEMA plug / outlet for this pice of equipment. It is shown to disallow use of unauthorized adapters.)

1. Readthismanualthoroughlybeforeinstallationandoperation.DONOTproceedwithinstallationand operationifyouhaveanyquestionsordonotunderstandanythinginthismanual.Contactyourlocal representativeorGlobefirst.

2. Removethegrillfromthebox.Onceyourgrillhasbeenremovedfromthepackaging,becertainthatall protectiveplasticsandresiduesareremovedfromallsurfaces.

3. Selectalocationforthegrillthathasalevel,solid,nonskidsurfacethatisnonflammableandaway fromwaterhazardsorsinks,andisinawell-lightedworkareaawayfromchildrenandvisitors.

4. Inspectthegrilltoensureallpartshavebeenprovided(i.e.-catchtray,feetx4,groovedscraper-suppliedfor thegroovedpaniniplategrillsonly).

5. TheinstallationofthegrillmustconformtotheNATIONALELECTRICCODEANDALLLOCALELECTRIC CODESANDORDINANCESANDALLTHELOCALELECTRICALCOMPANYRULESANDREGULATIONS. Additionally,werecommendthatthegrillisalloweda4”spacingsurroundingtheunitinordertoprovide adequateventilation.

6. ModelGPG10,GSG10,GPG14D,andGSG14D----120V Thesegrillsarewiredforusewitha120V/ACreceptacleandmaybepluggedintoany convenientoutlet.Duetothehighcurrentdraw,theseunitsshouldbeoperatedonadedicated,correctlyrated circuit.

ModelGPGDUE10,GSGDUE10,GPGDUE14D,&GSGDUE14D---240V/AC Thesegrillsarewiredforusewithastandard240V/ACreceptacleandmaybepluggedintoany convenientoutlet.Duetothehighcurrentdraw,theseunitsshouldbeoperatedonadedicated,correctlyrated circuit.

7. Properconnectionsandpowersupplyareessentialforefficientperformance.

8. Theexternalwiringshouldbeinconduitoranapprovedtypeofflexiblecablesuitableforoperationat temperatureindicatedattheconduithole,andinapropersizetocarrytheload.

9. Thesupplycircuitshouldbeproperlyfusedandequippedwithameansofdisconnecting,asrequiredbythe localelectricalcode.Foragrillwithplugsandleadsset,simplyprovideasuitablepowerpoint andconnect.

TheGlobeelectricpaninigrillisequippedforthevoltageindicatedonthenameplatemountedontherearoftheunit.Thispaninigrillisdesignedforuseonalternatingcurrent(AC)only.

ThisequipmentgetsEXTREMELYHOTsomakesureallflammable/combustiblematerialsaresetawayfromthisequipment.

NOTE:PaniniGrilltopplatetensioncanbeadjustedwiththeincludedallenwrench.Ajusttoliftingtensionlikeness.

FeetInstallfeetbyscrewingeachfootintothethreadedopeningsonthebottomofthegrill.Failuretousefeetwillvoidwarrantyandcouldcauseunsafeconditions.

LevelingLevelunitbyadjustingthefourfeetandtightensecurely.FeethaveanadjustmentofoneinchtoallowlineupwithotherGlobecountertopequipment.Checkthefeetevery60daystoensuretheyaretight.

AssemblyTakethewastetrayandslideitintotherunnersbelowtheelementsandplaceintotherack.Onceinpositionthewastetraywillcatchanyfoodproductcrumbs,greaseordrippings.

COMMISSIONING:Commissioningofyournewgrillisoftheutmostimportance.Commissioningisthethoroughandmethodicaltestingoftheequipment,subsystems,andsystemstoensurethatthefinalproductfunctionsproperlyandsafelyattheworksite.Byidentifyinganypotentialproblems(i.e.equipmentlocation,ventilation,localfire/electricalcodes,installation,operatortrainingandcertification)priortoequipmentbeingplacedintoservice,costlyoutagesandpotentialdamagesmaybeavoided.

Beforeoperatinggrill,itshouldbecheckedtoseethatitissittinglevel.Adjustthefeettolevelthegrill.Besurethecatchtrayhasbeenproperlyplaced.

Wipeawayallthepetroleumoilthatiscoveringtheplates.Thisisonlyaprotectantforshipping.Wipeawayasmuchasyoucanandthenheatuptheunittoburnofftheremainingoil.Oncetheexcesspetroleumoilisburnedaway,apumicestone,grillstone,orastainlesssteelbrushcanbeusedtobrushawaytheburntoil.

Allow 20-40 minutes for grilling plates to heat up.

NOTE: Upon first use, grill may emit a metal-burning smell. This is normal and the smell will dissipate with use.

Season the surface:Thegrillshaveacastironcookingsurface.Seasonthesurfacewithvegetableoil.

Cleanthecookingsurfacethoroughly.Afterthecookingsurfacehasbeenthoroughlycleaned,itshouldbeseasonedtopreventfoodfromsticking.Beforeusing,andafteruse,thoroughlyscourandseasonthecookingsurfacebyheatingthesurfaceinthefollowingmanner:

1. AdjusttheOn/Offswitchtothe“On”positionandadjustthetemperaturecontroldialto350°F.

2. Useacleancloth,notaspatula,andspreadathinfilmofcookingoilorfatoverthegrillcookingsurface. Thisfilmshouldremainonthehotgrillfor30minutes.

3. Removetheexcessoil/fatandwipeclean.ThegrillsurfacewillbeHOT.

4. Applyanotherfilmofcookingoilorfatoverthehotcookingsurfaceforanother30minutesand,again removetheexcessoil/fatandwipeclean.ThegrillsurfacewillbeHOT. Thegrillsurfaceisnowreadyforuse.

EVENWITHCAREFULSEASONING,FOODMAYSTICKTOTHEGRILLCOOKINGSURFACEUNTILTHEGRILLPLATEIS“BROKENIN”.

Temperature ControlThetemperatureisthermostaticallycontrolled.BesuretheOn/Offswitchisinthe“On”positionandadjustthethermostatdialtothedesiredsetting.NOTE:Consideralowerheatforgrillingmeats(360°F-430°F)

Cooking 1. AdjusttheOn/Offswitchtothe“On”position.

2. Setthethermostatdialknobatthedesiredtemperature.

3. Afterapreheatingperiod,thethermostatwillautomaticallymaintaintheselectedtemperature.

4. Whenthesettemperatureismet,theindicatorlightwillgooff. 5. Ensurethegrillisonandhasmetthedesiredtemperature. 6. Usingthehandle,raisethetopofthegrilltoexposethetopofthegrillplate. 7. Placethefoodproductontothegrilland,usingthehandle,lowerthetopgrillplatedownontothe foodproduct.

8. Aftereachtimethegrillisloaded,withacloth,papertowel,flatspatulaorsuppliedscrapper,pushthe excessgreaseintothecatchtray.Ifnecessary,emptythegreasereceptaclebeforeyouresumegrilling.

The grill surface and grease will be HOT.

Paninigrillsequippedwithtimerscanbeprogrammedandstoreuptofour(4)differentcookingtimes.Timerscanbesetfrom5secondsto15minutes.

Setting up the timers1.Makesuretheunitispluggedinandturnedon.Usethetemperaturedialtosetthedesiredtemperature. Ondeluxedoubleunits,makesurethetemperaturedialisturnedonforeachgrillsurface.

2.Pressthenumber1locatedonthetouchpadofthegrilluntiltheLEDdisplaybeginstoblink.

3.Presstheupordownarrowkeystothedesiredtimeofyourfirsttimer.

4. Oncethetimeisreached,leavethegrilluntoucheduntilthedisplaystopsblinkingORpressthenumber “1”timeronetimesothedisplaystopsblinking.

Timerselection,number1isnowprogrammed.

Repeatthestepsabove,usingthenumberofthetimertobeprogrammed,tosettimers2through4.

Oncethegrilltimershavebeensetandthecookingtemperatureofthegrillhasbeenreached,itisnowreadyforuse.

Using the Preset Timers1.Makesuretheunithasreachedthedesiredtemperature.

2. Placefoodontheopengrillandclosethetopplateusingthehandle.

3.Pressoneofthefournumberscontainingthetimesthathavebeenpreviouslyset.

4. Pressthe“Start”buttonlocatednexttotheLEDdisplay.(Inorderforyourtimetobegincountingdown, thestartbuttonMUSTbepressedeachtimeatimerisselected.)

Thetimerwillbegintocountdown.Oncetimereachesthezeros,theLEDdisplaywillblink00:00andfive quick‘beeps’willindicatethatthetimerhasfinisheditscycle.

5. Tendtothefoodbeingprepared.

Repeatsteps1-5asmanytimesasnecessary.

Note:Torestartthesametimeaspreviouslyused,pressthe“Start”buttonagain.Thetimernumberselectiondoesnothavetobechosenagain.

• Tointerruptadescendingcycletime,press“Stop”.TheLEDdisplaywillthenblinkwiththetimeremaining. (Note:Whenitscycleisinterrupted,timecannotbeaddedtothetimeroncethetimerbeginstocountdown)• Tocontinueadescendingcycletimefromwhereitleftoff,pressthe“Start”button.

• Ifyouneedtorestartatimefromthebeginning,stopthecurrenttimercycle.Then,selectoneofthepreset timers(1-4)andpressthe“Start”button.

Toreprogramorchangeatimer’spresettime,followtheinstructionsunder“Setting up the timers”.

Note:Iftheunitlosespower,isturnedofforisunpluggedfromthepowersource,thepreviouslysettimesofthetimersareretained.

RECOMMENDED CLEANING for PANINI GRILLS with SMOOTH GRILL PLATESIttakesverylittletimeandefforttokeepthegrillattractiveandperformingattopefficiency.Ifgreaseispermittedtoaccumulate,itwillturngummy,carbonize,andformintoahardsubstancethatisextremelydifficulttoremove.Topreventthiscondition,pleasefollowthecleaningstepsbelow:

Cleanthegrillwithaflatspatulatoremoveexcessoil/fatandfood.Acatchtrayisprovidedforthescrapings/fooddebris.

- A flat spatula should be used on the smooth plates only to remove food debris.

Ifthereisanaccumulationofburnedfatandfood,thegrillshouldbethoroughlyscouredandre-seasoned.

Useapumiceoragrillstone,whilethegrilliswarm,toremoveexcessfatandfood.Do not use steel wool because of the danger of steel slivers getting into the food.

AfterEachUse

Body Useacleanclothandanon-abrasivecleanertocleanthestainlesssteelbodyofthegrill.

Wipethepolishedareaswithasoftcloth.
