Clip art and math riddles from: Fun with Money: A Problem-Solving Activity Book by Carol A. Thornton and Judith K. Wells, published in 1991 by Learning Resources.

ISTE National Educational Technology Standards and Performance Indicators for Students:

2d—Communication and Collaboration. Students use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and

contribute to the learning of others. Students: contribute to project teams to produce original works or solve problems.

Placing students on teams to solve these jeopardy problems would ensure this standard is met.

5a—Digital Citizenship. Students understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behavior. Students: Exhibit a positive attitude toward

using technology that supports collaboration, learning and productivity.

Students doing group work to solve these problems will be collaborating in a productive way using technology. Hopefully it will be fun, so they will exhibit positive attitudes!

6a, 6d–Technology Operations and Concepts. Students demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems and operations. Students: understand and use technology systems.

Students: transfer current knowledge to learning of new technologies.

Students will use prior math knowledge and use it to learn how to play this jeopardy game—a new technology. They will understand how to use this technology system.
