Working in the Art and Design Industry INTERIOR DESIGNER: Interior designers have a second role of a various yet related projects. They turned interior space into an effective setting for a range of human activity there. They often make furniture, curtain, carpets and other stuff using color coordination and the making into public art for the client or family. An interior designer is someone who conducts such projects. It’s a multifaceted profession that includes conceptual development, liaising with the stakeholders of a project and the management and execution of the design. It is mainly used in US and UK. It is often called Spatial Interior Design, which is working the layout of space, flow of traffic etc. KIM ATKINS’ INTERIOR DESIGNER: From 1993 to 1999, Kim was a retrial Interior Designer in Kingfisher Group Southampton, Hampshire. She co-ordinates with the revamp store set designs. She helps organize the staff product in order and also gives them new skills training. She also does home visits and conduct in store design advice as well. And in 1987 to 1999, she became a creative direction in Hayling Island and Hampshire. She set up and runs her own Interiors business and give out interior design advice and project management. The different between both jobs is one when she did it on her own and one with others helping her but also her role in B&Q, it was partially an Interior Designer and partly as a spatial designer. Her jobs involves developing new ideas, getting key information, understanding cilents’ needs and people’s needs who live in the buildings, considering materials and costs, researching information related to the project, teamwork and keeping up to date to the deadline. They sometimes work in offices, retail locations, public buildings and surprisily, aircrafts and ships.
