by Secondes 3

Movies

French artists are not famous in Spain, but the Spanish students have seen French

movies like Polisse.

Page 3: interviews espagnols

Spanish pupils also like French movies, like the most famous:

Astérix and Obélix  or Ensemble, c’est tout . They

don’t necessarily appreciate all the movies and the actors of

their own country. For example, Fran doesn’t like Almodovar’s movies, he

finds them too dodgy.

Actors and Producer

Fran likes Tim Burton, the producer of a lot of film like . Edward Scissorhands Fran likes his film, particularly those with Johnny Depp who acted many time in Tim Burton’s films because there are both friends; for example, the movie Dark Shadows is their last film. Johnny Depp is his favorite American actor because he is fond of his actor’s acting style and because he finds he is a great and funny actor. I guess Fran likes the personality of Johnny Depp who has the gift to be somebody else easily, which means he knows how to get under the skin of his characters.

Like American actor Fran knows Jessica Alba too and he doesn’t really appreciate the Spanish actress: Penelope Cruz

Spanish Music

In Spain, people enjoy Salsa music, Flamenco music and many others but young people (particularly teenagers) are fond of Reggaeton music. It's a mix between Dancehall, Soca, Spanish Reggae, Hip hop, Toasting and Latin music. Some people say that is came from Panama, and others say that is came from Puerto Rico. It's heard especially in America (USA and Latin) but Canada, in Europe in some countries such as Portugal, Spain and Italy, and in islands as Dominican Republic or Cuba. In France, it just starts to be heard.Vocals include rapping and singing, typically in Spanish. One of the most famous Raggaeton singer is Daddy Yankee, and I want to show you one of his song which is called : Gasolina.Go to this link: Spanish MusicIn Spain, people enjoy Salsa music, Flamenco music and many others but young people (particularly teenagers) are fond of Reggaeton music. It's a mix between Dancehall, Soca, Spanish Reggae, Hip hop, Toasting and Latin music. In Spain, some Spanish go to clubs every Saturday night where they listen to

reggeaton music.

Reggaeton blends Jamaican musical influences of dancehall, with those of Latin America, such as salsa, Latin hip hop, and electronica. Lyrics tend to be derived from hip hop rather than from dancehall. Like hip hop, Reggaeton has caused some controversy due to alleged exploitation of women, and to a lesser extent, explicit and violent lyrics.

Spanish teenagers are keen on Rap music. Fran likes one of the most famous Spanish rappers: SHARIF. When we asked if he knows French singers, Fran told us that he knows ‘Snipper’ and ‘Soprano’ who are rappers too.

Fran sang us the only no rap song that he know :“Le long de la route” from ZAZ.

He sings very well !!

Sniper is a band of two rappers.

Hobbies

We questionned a Spanish student who lives in Malaga about his hobbies and he told us that after school he climbed buildings, it’s his hobby ! We were very surprised to know that his activity was so dangerous but he said that in Spain this activity is more developed than in France, but it’s still illegal. He trains in secret. He taught us that in French we called that “parcours”.He seems to love it, we, we are still too frightened to try.

In a Spanish class

School in Spain is a little bit different from here. Everyone finishes earlier (at about 3) and you have to be eighteen to go out of the high school during the break.

Spanish teachers are a little bit stricter, but students call them by their first name and they

sometimes use the familiar form (as “tu”) to address them.
