3 Install the SATA Disk Drive Carriers

If using the optional VA Expander, the disk drives come pre-installed in their carriers and are shipped separately from the chassis. They must be installed prior to use. To install the drive carriers:

Carefully align the carrier with the appropriate slot and slide into place.1. Close the drive tray using the drive tray handle.2.

Warning: Except for short periods of time (for example, while swapping hard drives), do not operate the system with empty hard drives slots as this interferes with proper airflow.

Note: For more information on the VA Expander, refer to the Intransa VideoAppliance™ VA100st / VA200st Getting Started Guide.

4 Connect the Intransa VideoAppliance™ Cabling

Power Cabling: Connect the supplied AC power cord(s) to the AC power connector on the back of the VA 1. chassis. If connecting the VA200st, it is recommended that each power cord be on a separate circuit.

Expansion Cabling: If installing VA Expander(s), use the included SAS cable to connect the VA Base System 2. to the port marked ‘In’ of the first VA Expander. Connect the ‘Out’ port of the VA Expander to the ‘In’ port of the next VA Expander and so on. The VA200st can have a maximum of 3 VA Expanders, the VA100st can have just 1.

Ethernet Cabling: Use two Ethernet cables 3. to connect Link 1 and Link 2 of the VA to an Ethernet switch that is on the same network that the NVR is connected to.

Note: Make sure the system used for administration (using the VSA Console), is assigned an IP address on the same network as the VA (192.168.0.101). For example, 192.168.0.10.

Note: The web browser used to access the VSA Console MUST have cookies and JavaScript enabled.
