Introducing the

The Hover Ad is the next generation in Rich Media, only available through Internet Broadcasting.  This ad is designed to give local advertisers dominant, above-the-fold presence and provides viewers control during their experience on your site.

Introducing the “Hover Ad”

The Leave Behind allows viewers to re-expand to view the original message or close the ad entirely.

How does it work?

The Hover Ad anchors itself to the bottom of your browser window on any section you target. As you scroll up and down on your site’s page, the Hover Ad follows.

The Hover Ad gives viewers the choice to collapse the message. When this happens, a client-branded Leave Behind appears at the bottom left of the screen and remains above the fold.

The Hover Ad gives clients many of the same benefits as the Pushdown Ad while providing a less-intrusive user experience.

IB strongly suggests not to sell a Hover ad and a Pushdown on the same day to prevent a bad visitor experience.

Since the Hover Ad is sold on a daily basis, campaigns with limited time offers or dated promotional events benefit from Hover Ads.

Unlike the Floating Rich Media ad that disappears after 15 seconds, the Hover Ad only shrinks when the user clicks the “Collapse” button. The Leave Behind only disappears when the user clicks the “Close” button.

Available on your Main Section pages except JustWeather (*See below for Homepage). Not impression-based, but rather sold on a per-day basis. Delivers on a frequency cap of once/user/day unless directed otherwise.

Impressions and clicks to the client’s website are tracked in the ad server. The Hover Ad can accommodate two additional click-throughs. To capture metrics on the additional click-through data, a clicktracker needs to be requested through webscan for each additional click-through you request

Cannot be viewed in Internet Explorer 6.

Due to IB Proprietary information, not able to be served via third party ads.

* If you wish to run a Hover ad on your home page or on story pages, interstitial settings would also allow traditional floating rich media ads to run there IF they are targeted ROS. This is easy to prevent by excluding Homepage or Detail pages from ROS floating rich media targeting. Please contact your Campaign Specialist to review in greater detail if you feel this applies to you.
