The JHF ν experim ent is a second generation lo ng-basel ine neutrino-oscillation experim ent to study nature of neutrinos. Artificial neutrinobeam generated in the JHF 50GeV high-intensity proton accelerato r inJAERI (Tokai, Ibaraki) i ss hoottowar dthe 50kton water Cherenkovdetector, Super-Kamiomande, which is located a 1000bout munderground in Kamioka mine (Gifu) and is 295km away from Tokai.

So, the challenge is now :

to find out the best site(s) with :- relatively large depth- very large volume (megaton scale)- ……..- convenient position (long baseline) with respect to accelerator(s)

and

to be able to excavate and stabilize the cavities

let us see with the talks of this session ….
