sts. Using your yarn needle, join one of the

Ch21 to the base of the shoe (between sole

and upper) and sew in securely (see section

over page if you do not know how to sew in

ends). Join the other end of the ch21 tail

approximately 6 stitches back. Repeat for the

other side with the second Ch21. Make sure

all ends are securely sewn in.

Now using 2 of the ch8 laces, pin the upper

and lower lace across the tongue of the shoe,

positioning them evenly and according to

what looks best, leaving a gap for the central

lace to be sewn on later.Picking up the ch20 Sew the laces into the body of the shoe,

sewing over the Ch21 so it is held securely in

place under the laces. Repeat on the other

side of shoe.

Using the last ch8 lace, secure it across the

center of the shoe, and secure the tail

between the upper and the sole, sew in ends

securely.

Finishing...

Being a mum I found a little trick to help keep

booties on my sons. Sew a 1.5 inch strip of

0.8mm elastic at the heel (stretching the

elastic slightly as you go) – It works a treat!

Sewing in ends.

The correct way to finish your items is to

sew/weave in the ends, rather than tying with

a knot. Thread the end of your yarn through a

yarn needle, then, working on the wrong side

of your work, insert your needle under about

5sts (being careful not to go right through so

it is not seen on the right side) Pull yarn

through, then repeat in the opposite

direction, to make a horse shoe shape. Fastenoff.
