What is IoT?IoT (Internet of Things) refers to the use of intelligently-connected devices and
systems to leverage and analyse data gathered by embedded sensors and
actuators in machines and other physical objects to help take decisions.
The use of IoT in travel will maximize capacity, increase connectivity or data
profiling, improve infrastructure efficiencies, and meet increasing governmentalregulatory requirements.

IoT Solutions Help With
Enable access:
Mobile-enabled IoT can
ensure the delivery of
services in remote and
previously unconnected
geographies.
Increase efficiency:
Through the IoT, business
can benefit from insights,
visibility and control by
real-time tracking of
machinery, equipment
and employees. This can
cut wastage, increase
productivity and safety
and extend asset life.
Enhance personalization:
Through customer
analytics, businesses will
be able to understand
and profile their
customers better in order
to be able to deliver more
customized services at an
individual level, thereby
transforming the
customer experience.

IoT in Real Life
Smart Ports
The Port of Hamburgimplemented an IoT-based
solution to increase the
throughput from 9 million
containers today to 25
million by 2025. Sensors
are put in trucks and
containers to determine
optimum usage of port
resources.
Smart Fleets
The worlds largest privatelyowned fleet management
services company, ARI collects
and analyzes thousands of data
elements. It uses an IoT platform
to track vehicles maintenance,
fuel use, licensing, driver
behavior, and more delivering
fast and actionable information
to help customers save money,
build revenue, and improve
productivity.
Connected Logistics
AT&T Cargo with FlightSafeuses sensors to track valuable
cargo by collecting information
details such as location,
humidity, temperature and light.
For the product to work
seamlessly, the cargo is tracked
on a real-time basis across as
many as 200+ countries through
partnerships that AT&T has
created with 28 airlines.
