Journey Management Plan Development
Multi-PlatformDevelop the system so that it can be used on a range of
devices including Web, iOS and Android to make it
accessible to all travellers.
Online & Offline FunctionalityInclude functionality that allows user to submit their JMP
when in areas with no connectivity allowing workers in
the field access at all times.
Ease of useTarget audiences must be taken into account to allow for
people of all abilities to use the system without being
burdened by difficult to use technology and terminology.
Web-based JMP System
• Very easy to use
• Very easy to develop add-ons and new features
Mobile App JMP System
• Can be used in areas of poor connectivity
• Can be used on every Supervisors iPad
Web Based JMP SystemA web based JMP system has been created to give travellers an
easy user friendly method for completing Journey
Management Plans.
The new JMP system incorporates Google maps to more
accurately aid travellers in planning their journeys. It will also
eliminate any human error when estimating travel times.
This will make travel much safer as drivers will allow
themselves more realistic timeframes to complete their
journeys and not have drivers taking unnecessary risks to meet
timeframes.
ImplementationImplementationImplementationImplementation
• Form validation makes sure all critical
information is input
• Drop down boxes speed up data entry and
increase ease of use
• Splitting information up across multiple
pages makes for simple data entry
Web Based JMP System
• The system uses Google maps
automatically map a suggested route so
the driver has an idea of the route
• Automatic calculation of the travel time
and distance
• The required number of breaks are
calculated automatically
• Takes human error or poor route planning
out of the picture
Web Based JMP System
• The user is then asked to
input the details of their
breaks
• Drop down boxes used
where possible for ease of
use
Web Based JMP System
• The user is then asked to select
which supervisor has approved this
journey
• This is used to later generate an
automated email which is sent to
the supervisor
• A simply one-click approval on the
email allows the Journey Manager
to be notified that the trip has
been approved and can commence
Email Message to Supervisor
Web Based JMP System
• A Journey Management Plan is
automatically sent to the Journey Manager
• A Journey Summary is displayed which can
be printed to aid with the check in process
• A simple 4 click return journey option is
available at the bottom of the page. This
will take the reverse order of travel
locations, complete another risk
assessment and ask for the new journey to
be approved again.
Quick and easy risk assessment of
the journey is carried out
Triggers can be setup to alert
Journey Manager of high risk
activities
SolutionsSolutionsSolutionsSolutions Trip origin and destination details
