We are doing very well with sponsor-ship for 2012, with thanks to : Baker Hughes, BG, Centrica, Dong, ExxonMobil, Gaia, Halliburton, Hess, Kirk Petrophysics, Perenco, Senergy, Schlumberger, Weatherford Labs and Weatherford. But we are won-dering if there are any other compa-nies or organisations who would like to raise their profile within the Petro-physics community by sponsoring our evening meetings? Currently our evening meetings cost us the price of hiring the Geological Society and the catering, but gener-ate no revenue to cover these costs. Getting sponsorship for evening meetings will allow us more re-sources to finance our student and academic support. Please contact me for details. All the Best

Message From the President Mid month we will hold the Shale Oil and Gas seminar at Burlington House, with a great range of speak-ers and topics from industry and aca-demia, see the website for details and please book early as this one is proving to be popular. The remaining seminars in 2012 are:- 18th September Practical Wellsite Petrophysics 6th December 70 years of Archie Many thanks to SPWLA Distin-guished lecturer, Gordon L. Moake for his excellent talk on the Photo-electric log in May. There is no evening meeting this month, but in July we are getting two talks, one form Brian Moffat on reser-voir water geochemistry and another from Stephen Amuda on geome-chanical models. Stephan has re-ceived LPS grants under our Iain Hill-ier award scheme to support his PhD.
