Tourism is also a highly changeable and creative industry which requires the continuous development of new products and markets. Business culture, Sustainability, Creativity and Technological innovation are now the key words to create new businesses and conquer an ever changing and highly competitive tourist market.

Learning OutcomesThe curriculum in Tourism Economics, International Tourism and Leisure Industries - ITALI is a three year degree programme providing students with the cultural and technical profile required to join private and/or public enterprises as a manager or professionals making. ITALI offers excellent preparation in tourism planning and tourism management and develops professional profiles which have a deep knowledge of complex interactions and interdependencies between creative industries, business strategies, governmental policies and tourism.

Admission RequirementsAll candidates shall have:• official final secondary school leaving certificate, that

allows entry to a first cycle degree;• qualification obtained after at least 12 years of schooling.Admission assessment based on the following documents:• academic merit (transcript of records from school);• curriculum vitae;• personal statement (motivation letter);• English language certificate B2 level (to be provided

before the beginning of second year). Available places: • 45 EU citizens• 25 NON EU citizens (according to ministerial directive -

Ministry of Foreign Affairs updated in Spring).

RESOURCE ECONOMICS AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT (RESD) Mission and Action Plan

Resource Economics and Sustainable Development (RESD) is a two-year master degree that offers excellent preparation in applied environmental economics.Students will have a critical understanding of complex interactions and interdependencies between economic decisions, market forces, governmental policies and the environment. Built on a solid foundation in applied economics, this preparation will distinguish RESD graduates for their ability to critically evaluate the qualitative and quantitative implications of environmental policies and to autonomously produce research, forecasts and plans concerning the evolution of markets for natural resources and to contribute to the design, production and marketing of products compatible with the consumption of natural resources and their sustainability.

Career opportunitiesRESD graduates, who are able to employ tools and standard methods in economics and management to environmental and resources related issues can be involved in the following fields: - Waste management - Corporate Social Responsibility - Environmental protection/natural resource economics - Environmental and eco-innovation consulting - Project management/Strategic planning specialist/Urban

economist - Food and agricultural economics - Energy - Climate Change

International - RESD classes are entirely taught in English, by UNIBO and

international professors. - RESD has signed an agreement with the Master of Arts in

International Affairs (MAIA) of Johns Hopkins University- School of Advanced international Studies (SAIS) in Bologna.

- RESD strongly advises students to apply for mobility exchange programmes like Overseas and Erasmus+, for a period from three to twelve months.

Scholarships and financial aidInternational students can apply for: - Study grants Unibo Action 2 (a study grant worth 11.000 €

gross assigned on the basis of the SAT and GRE tests) RESD programme offers: - Awards for the best 1st and 2nd year students

- Grants for an internship abroad and for an international conference participation

- Additional scholarships offered by the School of Economics, management and Statistics

- Erasmus+ and OVERSEAS grants

Admission RequirementsCandidates shall possess: - 1st cycle degree or equivalent bachelor qualification valid for

the admission to Italian Universities; - knowledge of fundamental elements in business, economics,

law and mathematical-statistical disciplines; - English language certificate (level B2).

Admission is conditional on the assessment by an appointed commission, which will evaluate the applicants on the basis ofacademic merit (bachelor qualification and/or transcript of records); curriculum vitae; motivation letter; reference letter.For Non-EU citizens, an annual quota of places is set each year, (upon conditions stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affair, i.e. pre-enrollment at the Italian embassy). 15 places are available for students joining EU programs, such as Erasmus Mundus.

Learning outcomes Service Management (SEM) aims at developing professional profiles tailored to service management in both industrial and services companies operating in domestic and international markets. Students will learn the knowledge and tools needed to design and implement successful strategies and operations associated with service management in national and international firms and with service delivery to client firms or customers. Courses deal with the classic issues of management and organization of firms while they are deeply concerned with the specific requirements arising out of the internationalization and innovation in the context of production and service activities.

Project works with companiesSEM provides the opportunity to take part into PROJECT-WORKS with selected companies during the first semester of the second year of studies. The aim of the PROJECT WORK is to engage students, apply skills and tools acquired during the programme, develop team

work and strengthen the collaboration with companies. Students will develop projects on a topic identified by the company, involving the following teaching activities: strategic management, innovation strategy, international business, marketing.

TEAMLearning OutcomesGiven the inter-disciplinarity of Tourism, the TEaM graduate will develop: strong and independent skills in economics and management, jointly with knowledge of law and quantitative methods, to analyse the dynamics of tourism markets and firms; advanced study methods and learning abilities to continue the studies with a PhD or to be able to produce independent analysis. Students will be prepared for market analysis, territorial planning, analysis of tourism flows, strategic and destination management, sustainable and ethical tourism and cultural heritage policies.

Admission RequirementsCandidates shall possess:• 1st cycle degree or equivalent bachelor level achieved in any

subject, awarded by an Italian or an accredited foreign university or university-level institution. This qualification shall grant access to 2nd cycle courses in Italy;

• knowledge of fundamental elements in business, economics, law and mathematical-statistical disciplines;
