Foods are made up of complex substances What 's the body digests and transforms into simpler substances , principles nutrients : proteins , sugars, fats, vitamins , water and mineral salts. PROTEINSThe proteins act as plastic, regulatory and

CARBOHYDRATESCarbohydrates are contained in foods of plant

origin, are the main source of energy for the ' body . The sugars are divided into simple and complex . Simple sugars include sucrose and fructose . Among the most popular is the complex sugars starch content in the flour, cereals, legumes and potatoes. Carbohydrates are found in: table sugar , sweets , jam, cereal, fruit, milk, potatoes and legumes

FATS• Lipids are substances ever richer in calories. They

have a particular energy function , but also plastic . I allow it to absorb fat -soluble vitamins and maintain body temperature. Lipids are divided into saturated fatty acids, and unsaturated fats. Saturated fats are difficult to digest as opposed to unsaturated fats. Unsaturated fats are found in olive oil and seeds and dried fruit . VITAMINS• Vitamins are substances all different between them,

water , instead of in children , it is 75% . This amount must be maintain. The water allows the transportation of minerals , helps maintain thermal equilibrium , makes possible the digestion, absorption and transport of nutrients , elimination of waste substances and participates in the plastic function .

MINERALS• Minerals are substances essential to all

living organisms ; are in the form of salts . Their function is protective and sometimes plastic . The minerals retain the right amount of body fluids and are divided into macro- and trace elements.

BULIMIA AND ANOREXIA

• Less spread of ' obesity is the bulimia which consists in ' uncontrolled intake of food often followed by self-induced vomiting and abuse of laxatives . Bulimia is associated to ' anorexia for the fact that they often do not occur apparent weight increases . To heal from ' anorexia and bulimia , the first step is essential to the subject's willingness to come out of this condition.  A type of mental disorder is the refusal to feed , that anorexia nervosa is caused by a desire to lose weight and by a fear of gaining weight. This is done with the elimination of food through self-induced vomiting . Anorexia is greater especially in models, dancers and athletes who want to control your own body weight , and rarely in males. Anorexics suffer from the cold and have a weakness, and in severe cases the disease can be fatal.

PIZZA WAS BORN IN NAPLES . THE MOST POPULAR TYPE IS THE MARGHERITA , MADE WITH TOMATO , MOZZARELLA AND BASIL. THESE FOODS REPRESENT THE COLORS OF THE ITALIAN FLAG . THE LEGEND SAYS THAT THIS PIZZA WAS SERVED TO QUEEN MARGHERITA OF SAVOY FOR THE FIRST TIME . THE PIZZA IS A FOOD OF PEASANT ORIGIN , BUT THE QUEEN LOVED HER AND WENT ON EATING DESPITE CRITICISM BY MEMBERS OF THE ROYAL CIRCLE . THE PIZZA THEN TAKES ITS NAME FROM THE QUEEN AND BECAME FAMOUS ALL OVER THE WORLD. THE PIZZA NEAPOLITAN , WITH TOMATOES GROWN IN THE VOLCANIC SOIL NEAR POMPEII, IS SPECTACULAR AND UNIQUE, DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE PIZZAS IN THE WORLD AND THE REST OF ITALY .

GELATO IS THE ITALIAN VERSION " OF ICE CREAM" . IT CONTAINS ALMOST ALL THE SAME INGREDIENTS, AS STATED IN THE RECIPE OF THIS CAKE , BUT IT CONTAINS LESS FAT AND SUGAR. IS FROZEN IN SMALL CONTAINERS , AS OPPOSED TO AMERICAN ICE CREAM COMMERCIAL . MISSING THE AMOUNT OF " AIR " IN THIS' "ICE CREAM" , GIVING A MORE INTENSE FLAVOR . ANOTHER DIFFERENCE IS THE DURATION OF TIME THAT CAN BE SAVED , THE ICE CREAM STAYS FRESH FOR ONLY A COUPLE OF DAYS. THE ICE CREAM IS VERY OLD , YOU HAVE ALREADY HEARD FROM HIM IN THE ROMAN AND EGYPTIAN CIVILIZATIONS , WITH THEIR DESSERT MADE OF ICE AND SNOW. APPEARED LATER IN FLORENCE, WHERE THE FLORENTINE COOK BERNARDO BUONTALENTI , CREATED THE FIRST ICE CREAM IN 1565 BUT DID NOT BECOME POPULAR UNTIL 1900.

• Another cheese is born in Italy parmigiano reggiano . It takes its name from the areas in which it was produced the first time : Parma, Reggio Emilia , Modena and Bologna. How many wines and sparkling wines, only cheese produced in these areas may take the name of parmigiano reggiano . This cheese has a distinctive flavor , and it is essential in many Italian dishes.
