To Proclaim

PASTOR’S NOTES As construction on the addition to Our Lady of Lourdes Interpar-ish School continues, you have probably noticed changes to other parts of our parish campus, especially along Bernadette Drive. With a new construction project, city codes that have been added since our previous construction (the new church) became effec-tive. The new sidewalk is a result of that, as will be trees planted on various parts of the campus.

Later this Summer, the exterior doors to the front and back en-trances of our church will be equipped with automatic locking

mechanisms, allowing them to be placed on a schedule for lock-ing and unlocking and to be immediately locked in case of a dan-gerous situation.

THIS WEEK IN OUR PARISH

MASS INTENTIONS Recently, the bishops of the Province of Missouri raised the standard Mass offering amount from $5 to $10 per Mass, effective July 1, 2019.

A NOTE FROM OUR ASSOCIATE PASTOR Greetings! I am Fr. Paul Clark and it is with great joy that I return to this faith community to serve as Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes parish. I served here as a transitional deacon two years ago in my final year of seminary, and would like to express my appreciation for all that the parish poured into my formation and for everything given by the parishioners towards the celebra-tion of my ordination. It seems very fitting that the Lord is now allowing me an opportunity to give back in grateful service to a parish that has given so much to me. The past two years I have been serving the parishes of St. Patrick’s in Rolla, as well as the students at the Newman Center of Missouri S&T, and Holy Cross in Cuba. My home town is Edina, in the northeast part of our dio-cese, where I was raised and formed with five siblings. My favor-ite part of priesthood thus far has been those moments when true spiritual fatherhood is experienced - from witnessing a great accomplishment by a parishioner to cleaning up a mess on the floor of the church…metaphorically and also literally. I enjoy be-ing outside (camping, hiking, kayaking, biking, etc.), singing and dancing, watching movies, and anything that brings me into an encounter with that which is True, Good or Beautiful. I look for-ward to getting to know each of you more and to be part of your journey deeper into a relationship with Christ!

Fr. Paul Clark

RCIA "COME & SEE" Are you, or someone you know, curious to learn more about the Catholic Church? Are you considering becoming Catholic, but don't know where to start? Are you a baptized Catholic, and would like to receive the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and/or Confirmation? On Sunday, July 21, at 9:30am, and Tuesday, July 23rd at 6:30pm (choose one), you are invited to "come & see" what these "Catholic classes" are all about. We'll meet in the RCIA classroom located in the basement of the Parish Office Building. Questions? Call Debbie: 445-7915, ext. 1124

All Musicians - Annual Music Inventory - Turn in your kit! All ACTIVE AND INACTIVE musicians who have numbered folders need

to return them to the white music cabinet. We need to finish before the choir season restarts. Please bring your folders/octavos to Mass and place them inside the cabinet on the lowest left-hand shelf (under the white basket). In addition, all musicians who do not have an assigned

inventory number of some sort need to return their music. We are get-ting tight on some materials, so we need to inventory everything and see where we are short. Thanks, everyone!

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS TODAY! This Sunday, July 14th, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Health Ministry will provide free blood pressure checks after the 7, 8:30 and 10 AM masses in Flanagan Hall. Linda Kolostov, phone—573-446-1477-home. 573-256-9184—cell. Georgia Anderson, cell—573-808-6074.

WHY DO CATHOLICS DO THAT???? We sit, we stand, we kneel, we bow. We process, we sing, we make the Sign of the Cross. Have you ever stopped to ask why? Find out in these binge-worthy short videos! Because each episode comes with a discussion guide with references, Elements of the Catholic Mass is ideal for personal faith formation or group discussion. Go to www.ourladyoflourdes.formed.org to register for access to this and many more helpful Catholic aids.
