The Jackson Middle School Ensemble Choir has been invited to perform at a choral competition in New York. The choir needs to sell as many tickets as possible to help raise enough funds to attend the competition. Please consider purchasing tickets to any of the following shows to support these talented students: Sweeney Todd Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim; Libretto by Hugh Wheeler Sept. 18 – Oct. 21 on the Main Stage Stephen Sondheim’s musical masterpiece is set amongst London’s seedy side streets and laced brilliant wit and dark humor. This landmark musical depicts the barber Sweeney Todd’s savage quest for retribution after years of false imprisonment. Combining comic turns, chilling drama and hauntingly beautiful songs, this is a fascinating portrait of a man driven to madness by injustice. Winner of 8 Tony Awards. A Midsummer Night’s Dream By William Shakespeare Nov. 13 – Dec. 23 on the Main Stage Shakespeare’s beloved comedy, complete with magical spells and flying fairies, makes a triumphant debut in the Gerding Theater at the Armory. Weaving three stories of love, magic and entertaining mischievousness in a moonlit forest on a midsummer night, Shakespeare’s fantastical play will make for a most delightful holiday treat! The Santaland Diaries By David Sedaris Nov. 27 – Dec. 30 in the Ellen Bye Studio Based on the true chronicles of David Sedaris’ experience as Crumpet the Elf in Macy’s Santaland display, this cult classic riffs on a few of Sedaris’ truly odd encounters with his fellow man during the height of the holiday crunch.
