International Network of Nuclear Structure and Decay Data Evaluators
• Multinational team of nuclear structure and decay data evaluators coordinated by the IAEA
• In existence since 1974
• Biennial meetings held under the auspices of the IAEA
• Maintain and update ENSDF (Evaluated Nuclear Structure Data File)
Master database held at NNDC, BNL, USA
• Available through various media: Web, Publications

ENSDF
Special (horizontal) evaluations that are needed by
the nuclear structure community, e.g., logft values, α- and p-decay properties, SD and magnetic rotation bands, nuclear isomers, properties of nuclei far from the line of stability, heavy and super-heavy nuclei, etc.
Evaluation of decay data for nuclides that are important to various applications, e.g., in reactor calculations, homeland security, medicine, detector calibrations, nuclear waste, etc.

International contributions to ENSDF
• Sole source of funding: US/DOE Office of Science
• DOE is concerned about lack of non-US contributions to ENSDF

Structure and Decay Data Evaluation for ENSDF
An international effort is needed to sustain this vital resource, used worldwide.
An increasingly large fraction of evaluation effort now comes from US and Canada.

Structure and Decay Data Evaluation for ENSDF
European Effort (1986 to present):
Dramatic erosion of prior European support:
• Out of the 6 European structure data centers in 1986, none is currently financially supported.
• Europe is a 26% user of end product but its contribution is disproportionately low (two remaining structure evaluators are retirees and have no financial support).

Conclusion
Strong international effort is needed to sustain this vital resource, used worldwide.
European community is a major user of NSDD databases. Their contribution to keep them updated will be greatly appreciated.
Some European groups have expressed interest in this activity.
These groups should be supported.
