“That was more niche. I felt peoplewere being overcharged for PR ser-vices.”

What’s the best advice he hasreceived?

“Think of everything as if you’re in afish bowl.” It’s important to be transpar-ent, he said, in an increasingly socialworld.

What drives him?

He spoke about his dad, a first-gener-ation American who became a success-ful surgeon. He served in Vietnam as anaval officer. “You see what you arecapable of. We can do a lot.”

A typical day

He wakes up at 4 a.m. to go on a 3-mile run, do 20 pull-ups and 100 crunch-es. “The fresh air in your system reallygets you going.” He then does two tothree hours of schooling through Wil-liam Mitchell College of Law, then he’soff to work.

Hobbies

He likes to read and play basketball.He enjoys spending time with friendsand family.

Teaching

He has worked as an adjunct profes-sor at FGCU, where he has taught en-trepreneurship and other businesscourses.

Biggest success?

As student body president at FGCU,he played a key role in getting a pavil-ion constructed to honor veterans. Herecalls being at the dedication cere-mony with his father. “That was at thetop of the list.”

Biggest influences?

“I think every stage of your life youfind a mentor or multiple mentors. Hismentors include John Gamba, presidentat Fort Myers-based MassiveU, andSandra Kauanui, department chair ofmanagement and director of the In-

stitute for Entrepreneurship at FGCU.

What he has learned

“Fail quick. You have to be reallysuccessful to get people behind whatyou’re doing.”
