Job Shadowing Program: Immersing students through Work-Based-Learning explorations.
Do you want to have a solid action plan for implementing job shadowing through work-based learning explorations into your academy?
This session will provide your academy with the tools necessary to implement meaningful job shadowing opportunities in the world of work, where students can get first-hand information, and learn of the real life experiences about job skills and careers.
See how a strong WBL plan can include meaningful activities, lesson plans, as well as development procedures for utilizing your community businesses outside the classroom.
INTERACTIVE EXERCISE:
Pair up into teams of two
Grab a zip-lock bag
10 minutes to complete:
First two teams to complete correctly win a prize.

INTERACTIVE EXCERCISE:
Each table will elect one drawer and one recorder. Remaining table participants are the guessers.
Drawer will pull the secret word (job title) from the bag
Drawer will not reveal the secret word to the guessers
When facilitator starts the 4-minute clock, drawer will “act-out”, sing or describe the job title without revealing the job title.
If guessers name the job title correctly, the recorder notes the win and drawer moves on to the next secret word.
Continue drawing secret words and guessing until timer at the 4-minute mark is called.
Team with the most correct secret word matches wins!
