Spring 2019
Thank you!
From the President’s desk:
I want to thank all JMH Alumni for
your financial support and those who
responded to our article in last year’s
newsletter about cutting back on our
distribution. We will continue mail-
ing newsletters to everyone in the
class years from1932 through 1979,
unless you requested the Email copy
only. No newsletters will be mailed
to any Alumni from 1980 and above,
unless requested. The newsletter will
be available to all on line at
“jmhalumni.com” sometime in June
2019. Any one requesting a printed
copy of the newsletter from the clas-
ses of 1980 or above will receive
one.
Other news: Three new Trustees
have joined our Board! They are Vir-
ginia Hueter 6/86, Steve Jackson
6/92 and Brandi Jett 6/13. Long time
trustee Ray Vorell 6/69 recently re-
tired.
The John Marshall football team beat
Collinwood and won the City Cham-
pionship this past fall. Glenville did
have a better record, but they had
eleven players that were not eligible
to play on their team. They could not
play in the state playoffs or the city
championship. John Marshall did
play their football games on the new
field this past fall. We still don’t
have a track, but our new field is
great!
Thank you,
Ken Tischler 1/57

Special Tribute to making 100!!
Marcella
(Loschelder)
Walters, 6/36,
Westlake, turned
100 last April
9th. A celebration
was planned with
98 people in at-
tendance, 72 of them were direct
descendants. Sadly she passed 17
days after her birthday.
Margaret “Peg” (Perry) Cachet,
1/37, Rocky River, sadly passed at
99 on 12/31/2018. Her daughter
wrote to us stating that her mother
“was a proud alum of John Mar-
shall.” There were seven children,
and as they often times drove past
JMH, Mom would sing the Alma
Mater—”Ten thousand strong, sing
me a song, Marshall High to thee,
beloved is thy glorious name . . .”
Daughter Mary Joan took her back
to JMH several years ago on her
birthday—they had a great day with
staff and pictures, and looked for the
location where she planted a tree for
an honor she had received. Her high
school years provided her with many
fond memories.
Final Roll Call
While we attempt to verify each listing,
errors may occur. Names listed are only
for those who have passed between
2014 and March 1, 2019. The follow-
ing names have been sent to us in the
past year or have been verified as best as
possible while updating our database.
To help us confirm a classmate’s pass-
ing, please include a copy of the obit or
the link online, along with their location.
Our condolences to the families and
friends of those listed:

Mission Statement
The John Marshall Alumni Association is a non-profit organization dedicat-
ed to supporting John Marshall High School, its faculty, students and alum-
ni. We promote, finance, organize and participate in functions and events
that contribute to the core values of education both academically and social-
ly. We draw on our Alumni for support in these endeavors that include a
Scholarship Program for graduating Seniors. Finally, we strive to maintain
historical records that preserve our School's rich heritage.
