Day1–June7th:DepartfromtheU.S.A. Ourpilgrimagebeginstodayaswedepartonflightswithourfinaldestination:Kigali,Rwanda.

Day2–June8th:ArriveKigali,RwandaWearrivearound7:00pmintoKigali,willcheckintoourhotelandhavedinner.

Day3–June9th:KigaliWewillspendthedayinKigali,visitingtheGenocideMemorialandthePresidentialhome.TheMemorialisaplaceofremembrance,formorethanonemillionvictimsofthe1994genocideagainsttheTutsi,andwhere250,000victimsarelaidtorest.Thereisnochargeformuseumbutdonationsaregratefullyaccepted.

Day4–June10th:ButareWewillboardourmotorcoachanddrivetoButare,whichisknownastheuniversitycityandhaslongbeenregardedastheintellectualcapitalofthecountry.ItwasatonepointwheretheKingsofRwandaresidedbecauseofitsbeauty.WewillvisittheMuseumoftheKingsofRwandaaswellastheNaturalHistoryMuseum,whichisoftenreferredtoasthefinestmuseum(forculturalhistoryofthecountry)inEastAfrica.WewillspendsometimeattheMissionariesofPeaceNovitiateHouseandcelebratetheHolyMassintheirchapel.Therewillbetimeforprayer,teachingandreflectionwithFr.UbaldandBarbaraHeil.

Day5–June11th:CyanguguWedepartthismorningbymotorcoachforCyanguguandtheCenterfortheSecretofPeace.WewillbedrivingthroughtheNyungweNationalForestwhichisavastareaofmountainrainforestandhometomanyspeciesofchimpanzeeandColossusmonkeys.Uponarriving,wewillhavelunchandtimeintheafternoonforrestandmassattheCentreDePastoralwherewewillbestaying.

Day6–June12th:SecretofPeaceCenterTodaywewillbevisitingtheCenterfortheSecretofPeaceoverlookingpicturesqueLakeKivuwherewewillexplorethebeautifulgrounds,havetimefortheRosaryWalk,andpreparefortomorrow’shealingservice.Fr.Ubaldwillbewithustotalkaboutthecenteranditsfutureplans.Therewillbetimeforprayer,lectureandencounterwithmanylocalswhocomedailyforprayerandconfession.

Day7–June13th:SecretofPeaceCenterThisisFatimaDayfortheCenterandonthe13thofeverymonthamasswithhealingprayeriscelebrated.Thereareusually25,000ormoreparticipantswhocometomassandprayforhealing,rainorshine.TheywillcomefromasfarawayastheCongoandBurunditoencounterthehealingpresenceofJesusintheEucharist.ItwillbeafulldayofcelebrationwithmassfollowedbyatraditionalRwandanlunchforallofusattheCenter.

Day8–June14th:KibehoWedepartCyangugutodayanddrivetoKibeho,thesiteoftheapparitionsoftheBlessedMother.Wewillhavetimeforprayerandmassattheshrine,andifthevisionaryNatalieisinresidencewewillhaveanopportunitytomeetwithher.

Day9–June15th:KibehoWewillspendthedayvisitingtheShrinewithtimeforprayer,aswellasvisitwherethebrothersoftheMissionariesofPeacereside,andhearabouttheireffortsofpeacebuildinginthearea.

Day10–June16th:KigaliWereturntoKigalitoday,wherewewillhavetimetopurchasesouvenirs,statues…Wewillcelebrateourlasteveningtogether.

Day11–June17th:DepartforU.S.A.WedepartKigali,beginningourtravelshome.

Day12–June18th:ArrivetoU.S.A.

PilgrimageItinerary

TERMS AND CONDITIONS RwandaPilgrimageJune7–18,2018 Price Includes: All lodging accommodations; breakfast, lunch and dinner daily; touring by a private motor coach with an English-speaking guide; entrance fees on scheduled tour stops; bottled water throughout. Prices are per person based on double occupancy in a room. If you do not have a roommate the Single supplement is an additional $700.00.

NOT INCLUDED: Airfare and travel insurance (however insurance is available upon request), a $35 Visa fee upon arrival to Kigali airport (VISA charge cards are accepted), items of a personal nature such as laundry, telephone calls, room service. Any excursions not listed on the itinerary, and all other items not stated as included. At the end of the trip, we do give participants the option of giving an additional tip to our excellent driver/guide.

Reservations & deposit: The deposit will be applied to the total cost of the tour if not cancelled. A per person deposit of $500 is required to guarantee your reservation and should be sent as soon as possible since space is very limited. Checks should be made out and mailed to Monique Stevens (see below), or it can be paid online via pilgrimage link. Final payment is due 65 days before departure, April 2, 2018. For reservations made within 60 days of departure, full payment is due immediately.

Cancellation policy: 91 days or more before departure - $50.00 cancellation fee will be charged, 90-31 days prior to departure - $250. If cancelled 30-15 prior, a $600 penalty will be charged. If cancelled 14-7 days prior $700 will be charged. No refunds will be made within 6 days of departure. Additional cancellation penalties may apply depending upon the cancellation terms of our suppliers.

Waiver: I, in completing the transaction of registration, voluntarily, and having been informed of the nature of the program which Fr. Ubald provides, and the potential risks encountered through this pilgrimage, beginning June 7, 2017 – June 18, 2017, assume full responsibility for all risk resulting from my participation. I, the undersigned, release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue Fr. Ubald, his staff, volunteers, officers or agents from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions and causes of action whatsoever arising out of, or related to any loss, damage or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or any of the property belonging to me, whether caused by the negligence of the releases, or otherwise, while participating in the programs and activities of the Rwanda Pilgrimage. I am also aware and give full consent, that any photos or videos taken of me during the pilgrimage or any time on the trip, may be used for marketing purposes in order to help promote The Center for the Secret of Peace as the program develops. Insurance: Pilgrimage organizers, airlines and tour suppliers are not responsible or liable for loss, damage, theft of luggage or personal belongings, personal injury, accidents or illness. Your current health insurance should be checked for coverage abroad. Allianz Global Assistance is a recommended travel insurance, and should be contacted directly by traveler (866-884-3556).

Passports/Visas: Rwandan consulate visas are not required for U.S. citizens traveling to Rwanda for less than 90 days. However, upon arrival to Kigali, there will be a one-time $35 visa fee for entrance into Rwanda. This fee will be paid at the airport. VISA charge cards are accepted. All passports must be valid for at least six months beyond our return date from Rwanda. Please allow sufficient time prior to departure to get your passport in order. It is each registrant’s sole responsibility to make sure they meet the vaccination requirements, prior to travel to Africa.

Tour documents: Approximately one week prior to departure you will receive final documents including hotel phone numbers and

information, and letter of instruction.
