RESEARCH

My research group currently has 15 graduate students and more than 12 undergraduates. The projectsare mainly funded by COLCIENCIAS in three different modes: Co-funded with private institutions,non-co-funded and through the Ph.D. program. There are several students that are funded by theUniversidad Nacional de Colombia Research Fund and the Faculty of Mines Ph.D. and M.Sc. tuitiongrant.

Projects that are in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University ofChicago are funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institute of Health(NIH), the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Keck Foundation. These collaborations in theUSA support co-advised students and postdocts in Juan de Pablo and Dave Schwartz’ groups. Theyprimarily provide funding for travel expenses, conferences and monthly expenses when colombianstudents visit US.
