From The Pastor

Greetings Brothers & Sisters

Here we are in the midst of summertime as we celebrate this month the

birth of our nation and we remember those who fought for the freedom we

enjoy today. Let us not forget those who still fight for our freedom in the

battlegrounds across the world. We celebrate with picnics, baseball

games and fireworks. We join together with friends and family gathering

around picnic tables joining in laughter and telling stories of old. What a

great time of year it is to be an American!

It is also another great time for us to remember the freedom we have as

Christians. We are reminded of this throughout scripture, and one of those

places is in Galatians 5:1 where it says: “It is for Freedom that Christ has

set us free.” Christ has set us free from the burden of our sins and that

should be cause for us to celebrate as well. What a great joy it is to know

that God gave His Son as a sin offering for us so that we don’t need to be

burdened down with the weight of sin. Jesus reminds us of how we are

set free from our sins and we are no longer slaves to sin in John 8:36: “So,

if the Son will set you free, you will be free indeed.”

I pray that during this month as we gather around enjoying our freedoms

with those we love, let us continue to celebrate our freedom we have in

Christ and celebrate that as well.

May you have a blessed Fourth of July and may the remainder of your sum-

mer be filled with joy and laughter.

God Bless,

Pastor Scott

Hospitality Committee Needs Your Help

This Committee is always looking for volunteers to help in

various ways. One of the most important ministries this

committee does is funeral dinners along with other special events

or activities. There are several ways you can help! You can

donate food, work during a funeral dinner, donate money or even

help by becoming the Chairman or Co-Chairman of this

committee. If you would love to help and become a part of this

committee, please contact Carol Williams or the church office.

Garage Sale Fundraiser Trinity UMC will be holding a garage sale

fundraiser for the Youth July 25th. The time will be announced. Start gathering your

unwanted usable & clean items, plus your plastic grocery bags to donate.

SAFE

SANCTUARY TRAINING Safe Sanctuary Booster Session Meeting. Thank you for the wonderful attendance Sunday, May 17, 2015 to our Booster Session meeting. Food Pantry Volunteer Needed We have someone who has volunteered to help at the food pantry on the 1st Monday of the month during the summer. However, we are still looking for someone to take over full-time. If you're interested, please see Mary Collins.

Ring Found>>> A ring was found. Please see

Pastor Scott with a description to claim.

Haiti Mission Trip 2015 Plans are being made for another mission trip to the Mission of Hope for November 11-18, 2015. There will be a planning trip sometime later this month or early next month with information concerning the trip. It is a rewarding trip that will touch your heart and you can share in ministry with our brothers and sisters in Haiti. If you are looking for a great opportunity to be in mission, this is it! You can ask some of the others who have gone and listen to their stories on how God touched their life while down at the Mission of Hope. The cost for the trip should range around $1200 - $1500. If you are interested in going, please let Pastor Scott know.

Acolyte Volunteers If you are between 1st grade and

5th grade and are interested in

becoming an acolyte, please

contact Pastor Scott Campbell

or call the church office.
