Amrik Singh Pooni, of New Westminster, BC, passed away suddenly on May 30, 2015 in New Westminster.Amrik was born in Jindowal, Punjab, India to Kabal Singh and Tarsem Kaur Pooni on August 5, 1941. He graduated from Khalsa High School. After working on the family farm for several years, he left India in search of a new home and future for his wife and infant daughter. He established himself in Burnaby and was later joined by his young family. Over the next few years, his family expanded to include his two sons. After working for Fraser Mills for several years, his entrepreneurial spirit emerged and he started his trucking business, A. Pooni Trucking. After a successful 35 years of entrepreneurial life, he reluctantly settled into retirement in New Westminster. Never one to sit idle, he called upon his early farming experience and became renowned for his phenomenal vegetable and fl ower gardens, woodworking skills and indulgence of his grandchildren. He would often be found walking amongst neighborhood parks of in search of inspiration. He is very loved and will be missed.Amrik is preceded in death by his parents. Amrik is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years Harbhajan, his loving children Jagrup & Harinder, Gary & Mina and Sonny & Darseen, and his 7 adoring and adored grandchildren Kyle, Tyler, Paul, Neil, Tage, Ethan and (Princess) Saphia, 2 sisters & brothers-in-law, 2 brothers & sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.Funeral services will be held at Riverside Funeral Home, 7410 Hopcott Rd, Delta, BC on Saturday June 6, 2015 at 3:00pm followed by prayer at Gurdwara Nanak Niwas 8600 No. 5 Road, Richmond.In lieu of fl owers, memorial donations may be made to the Amrik S. Pooni and Family Bursary, Simon Fraser University.The family wishes to extend their gratitude to friends and family that have come to help us in this diffi cult time.

COULSON, EileenSeptember 20th, 1926 -
May 25th, 2015
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Coulson. Eileen wasborn on September 20th, 1926 in New Westminster, B.C. to William and Agnes Hutchinson. She was the third of four chil-dren, pre-deceased by her par-ents, older brothers Bruce and Gilbert, and her younger sister,Doreen. Eileen is also prede-ceased by her loving husbandGeorge Allan (Al) Coulson and son Dave. She is survived by her sons Bob (DeeDee), Barry(Debbie), Ron (Carol), daughter-in-law Sandra, grandchildren Gavin and Kimberly, Michael and Rachel, Christopher andRebekah, and Suzanne and Stuart. Eileen married the love of her life, Al, in June of 1948, and raised 4 sons in the Royal City. She was a hard-working woman who was engaged in hercommunity through the Hyack Festival Association, and other civic groups. She was a tele-phone operator with the former BC Tel, spent many years with Woodward’s Department Store,and had many friendships she cultivated through the years. Eileen loved to laugh, engage in family events and dinners, and was especially proud of hersons, their wives, and her 8 grandchildren. A celebration of Eileen’s life will be held at Glenbrook Amenities’ Centre, 76Jamieson Court, New Westmin-ster on Friday, June 5th, from 2-4:30 pm. In lieu of fl owers, please consider donating to the Canadian Cancer Society, or another registered charity of your choosing.
