    214-3

Whoever eats this Bread will live forever! Today, we celebrate the greatest gift that we will ever receive - THE BODY & BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST. As Roman Catholics, we believe that when we receive the Body & Blood of Jesus Christ in Holy Communion, we receive Jesus into our bodies and into our hearts. It is not a symbol of Jesus but the real presence be-cause the bread & wine have been transformed into the Body & Blood of Jesus Christ. We receive Christ into our bodies when we receive a small piece of the Body (Holy Com-munion host) or just the Blood or when we receive both the Body & the Blood from the chal-ice. It is a special time for us and we ought to receive this wonderful gift with respect & digni-ty. We ought to be asking Jesus to make us better disciples and to use our faith to create a more peaceful & just world for all Gods children, beginning with our own families & communi-ties. It is a personal time for us to grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ who is the Son of God & King of Peace. Besides the immediate assistance receiving Holy Communion offers us, we are told that we will live forever when we eat this Bread. This forever is eternal life with God in heaven. So we ask ourselves: Do we celebrate the personal encounter with Jesus

Christ in Holy Communion with respectare our hands clean and hearts pure?

Do we pray every day to Jesus to allow are words & action to be more Christ-like & less evil?

graduating from school Father, I have knowledge, so will You show me now,
