Hello Parents!
All this year we are focusing on what it means to be a good stewards
of the time, talent, and treasure God has entrusted us with. One of the many
treasures most dear to our hearts is the gift of our children. We spoke last
time about the great need for religious education. What is another need our
children, and we ourselves, have?
Adoration: Our parish initiative is for parents to bring their children of
all ages for one to five minutes minimum after Mass to adoration. Our adora-
tion chapel should be the busiest place on the St Anthony’s campus besides
the main church. People should be coming and going, spending time and
praying all day long, every day. We need time with Jesus, as families and as
individuals. Don’t let your busy life take you or your family away from your
best friend. Pray for your children and each other while you are in His pres-
ence. And begin or strengthen that life long friendship with our Lord in the
here and now that will someday continue throughout eternity in Heaven. Seri-
ously. Go to adoration. The children in Children’s Liturgy know the code to get
in. The adoration chapel is next to the lower church where Monsignor lives.
Then go get coffee and donuts on Sunday. Your body will thank you for the
extra steps and the exercise.
Since writing my last column many of you have taken this to heart.
How did you feel when your children asked to take you to adoration? Were
you scared? Unsure what to do? I am so proud of the 75-100 children and
parents who gave up part of their day to courageously spend time with Jesus
after Mass. It’s the start of a beautiful habit, this spending time with the Lord.
It’s the time spent in adoration that turns the hearts of young ones into hearts
that are full of love for others and for God. The young ones who grow up to
serve the Church as priests, deacons, consecrated sisters, or who share the
Gospel with the world in any number of ways. It could be a turning point in
their lives, and by bringing them to adoration, you were there to be a part of
it! There are many stories of great spiritual beginnings and conversions that
start by spending a few minutes with Jesus. Maybe it’s your children’s. Maybe
it’s yours.
Jesus loves spending time with you and your family. Go be with Him.
Your fellow servant in Christ
Chris
Dear Jesus, in everything I say and in everything I do, in everything today may
it glorify you!

From Msgr. Frank Chiodo
Parishioners,
Due to the Diocesan Priest Workshop at Conception Abbey, Fr. Dolan and I will be away for ma-
jority of the week. The altered Mass schedule is listed below.
A heartfelt thanks to Lynn DeFino, Suzanne Hejkal and Andrea Rice for serving on the pastoral
counsel for the past two and a half years. I appreciate the time and dedication that they gave
to St. Anthony.
I would like to welcome five new members to the pastoral council. They are Charles Lavorato, Jacob Heflin, Ann McFall,
Cindy Schnell and Lana Fogue. We look forward to working with the new membership as we continue to discern God’s
will for our future. Thanks to our current chairman, Bryan Gonzalez for his expert leadership of the team.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the annual Corpus Christi Eucharistic procession. This is a grand tradition of our
parish which spans the decades back to the 1930’s. Sunday June 23rd, Mass will be at 11:00am at the grotto, fol-
lowed by the solemn procession through the neighborhood. Lunch to follow. Spread the word.
Blessings,
