The award is sponsored by Youth Builders of Greeneville and the Greeneville Sun. The Chapter received a plaque which will be proudly displayed in the lobby. In addition, the Chapter received $100 which will be used to purchase bingo prizes for local nursing homes. The Women of the Moose objective is to emulate and advance the virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity into their homes and community through community service. Each month a local non-profit organization is selected to receive monetary and/or specifically requested donation. This year’s recipients included Greeneville/ Greene County Community Ministry Coal Fund and Food Bank, Greeneville/Greene County Library, Greeneville/ Greene County Humane Society, Boys and Girls Club of Greeneville, St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, American Cancer Fund of East Tennessee, Shop with a Cop, Gifts for Kids, Child Advocacy Center of the Third Judicial District, Boy Scout Troop #92 and Relay For Life. This is in addition to the nearly $3000 given in support of Mooseheart and Moosehaven. We want to particularly express our appreciation to the “Thursday Ladies” who visit our local nursing and assisted living home each Thursday providing bingo prizes and spending time with the residents. They are also instrumental in ensuring that two needy families in our community receive a hot meal and gifts at Thanksgiving and Christmas. These special ladies are Mary Ann Gray, Charlotte Peters, Nancy Burns and Gerrie Richard, who served as this year’s Community Service Committee Chair. They truly exemplify the true essence of the Women of the Moose, giving of their time and talents. These contributions are made possible through the generous support of our LOOM/WOTM members. Without your continued support and monetary donations of our monthly Women of the Moose fundraisers such as potlucks, Longaberger Basket Events, bake sales, yard sales, Talent Show, etc. we would be unable to continue our legacy in our local community or at Mooseheart and Moosehaven and for this we are eternally grateful.
