The extension unit can be mounted onto operating tables of theSATURN family, onto the SATURN operating table system and
the JUPITER operating table system. Because there aredifferences between the SATURN family, the SATURN operatingtable system and the JUPITER operating table system, correspondingly different OR adapters have to be used. Theessential differences lie in the ways the OR adapters are hooked
onto and secured to the operating tables. The followinginstructions apply to both operating tables.
1.1 Proper Use of the Equipment
The extension unit can be mounted onto the SATURN GE andSATURN GR operating tables, onto the SATURN operating table
system and the JUPITER (SM or SF) by means of thecorresponding OR adapters and it is intended to be usedtogether with them for the following purpose:
• Holding patients during the operation(induction of anaesthesia, operation, recovery fromanaesthesia)
• Transporting the patient on the table top from a patient
transfer system to the operating theatre and back.
When doing this, the operating table can be adapted to thesupporting position required for the patient.
Intended use of the table includes following the instructions inthis user manual.
