INTRODUCTION

Knowfair Communications & Services Private Limited (Knowfair) was incor-porated on November 16, 1999. The company was established in order to add value to Clients’ businesses through consulting, advisory, implementation and trouble shooting services. As the name suggests the company is a knowledge player contributing to fairness and transparency in all walks of life. Knowfair is a quality and result driven boutique consulting, empowering businesses as think-tank and solution provider.

The Company’s Managing Director has worked in Leading Companies like Mudra Communications Limited (part of Reliance and affiliate of DDB), Primesite (Mudra/Reliance promoted), Bennett Coleman & Company Limited(The Times of India group), RTIL, HMT Limited, Blue Star Limited, Shiva (part of an ARC and AMC of DII, listed in AIM London). Before setting up Knowfair he was Chief Executive with Mudra, Indian affiliate of DDB Needham Worldwide. He was also a Promoter Director of Indo Aus-tralian Joint Venture-Primesite. He is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Man-agement, Ahmedabad 1980 – 1982 batch.

The Co-Director also worked for 26 years and her exposure includes in Mar-keting in Domestic and International Markets and in her last assignment she was a Vice President with a 100% EOU.

Knowfair was selected by UNDP as one of the 100 Companies amongst 1700 competing companies from Asia and Africa for representing in AABF II in Durban, RSA in FY 2001 – 2002.

The M.D. of Knowfair was invited again by UNDP/AFRIFINANCE as the sole representative of Asian entrepreneurs, as distinguished speak-er to deliver a talk in an International Banking Roundtable at Port Louis from November 27–28, 2003 addressing world’s leading banking frater-nity, where Indian Banking was represented by EXIM Bank of India.

Knowfair is also a special invitee of CII/FICCI and its M.D. has con-ducted national capacity building workshops along with International Bankers and Management specialists on invitation of CII.

The space handled by Knowfair includes Management, Marketing, Communi-cation and Corporate relationship consulting services, Advertising, Coaching of Realty and Media Business owners, Recruitment and training, Interim CEO ship, Market Research, nationwide Asset Resolution services for leading Indian banks, Investor tie-ups etc.

OUR BUSINESS

We have worked in development of strategy for launch of new products/extension of new lines of business/geographical expansion, research and consulting for pre and post launch, development and implementation of communication strategies, management of communication programmes, trouble shooting of problem areas like dispute settlement in channels of dis-tribution, etc.

Some of the major work we have done in Realty space in India includes

a. Work on researching old-city (mohollas) dwellers and creating strategies for converting them to township dwellers and implemented the same for clients.b. Work on identifying through research large realty potential and work for launching successfully first realty residential township in an upcoming industrial district where today realty investment itself is around US$2 billion apart from several billions of industrial investments.c. Coached realty business leaders from infancy to creating businesses for hundreds of millions of dollars.d. Researched for realty clients in setting up residential townships, commercial properties, IT parks and SEZ opportunities.e. Created marketing and advertising strategies for our clients and implemented the same for assisting in achieving business targets.f. Assisted the Finance experts in creating funding proposals for the banks and almost all our realty research have been used by entrepreneurs to make their projects bankable.g. Created media plans and progammes for clients across varieties of media and implemented the same through various agencies.h. Our work in Advertising and Media space includes offering solutions to three leading media groups having large no of na-tional and international brands operating in India and other various countries. During the post recession period we even handled dispute resolution due to withdrawl of two big US media brands post dot-com. For a Thai media conglomerate we worked in Africa for business promotion, specially in tourism market of Mauritius.For another leading media brand we handled their dispute settlement in the middle east.We also did media tracking of world’s no. one mobile brand for an inter-national agency with US parentage. We had done complete Pre-launch Consulting for a new edition for one of the country’s leading business dailies which includes Undertaking Feasibility, Development of Marketing and Production Programmes, understanding Readers’ and Advertisers’ needs etc.

In FMCG category we were associated with channel management problems of world’s two leading FMCG brands.

In our services to Business Associations we have offered solutions to leading Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industries associations.

In the FY 2001 – 2002 Knowfair was shortlisted by CII and was finally selected by UNDP from 1700 competing companies of Asia to represent as one of the 100 finalists for AABF II at Durban, Republic of South Africa. During that period, the company had entered into 8 MOUs with companies from Nigeria, Re-public of South Africa, Senegal, Cameroon, Mauritius and Botswana.

My contribution in Real Estate domain includes:

• Consulted and assisted in launching and sale of 10 realty projects, project size varying from 250 units to 3000 units during last seven years.

• Contribution has been to opportunity research, identifying opportunities and conceptualizing projects, working with architects/in-house tech-nical team to develop these concepts, pricing of final product, marketing and advertising planning, sales planning, customer service, helping improvement of operational efficiency, interaction with financial institutions, building brands from ordinary concepts, HR and training, invest-ments etc. Advised on communication strategies both for internal as well as external target audiences. • Responsible for handling resolution and acquisition of distressed assets for an ARC-Dhir and Dhir Asset Reconstruction and Securitisation Co. Ltd.- registered with the Reserve Bank of India, the Central Bank in India. Was recruited as COO for a shell company, viz. Shiva Consul-tants Pvt.
