TuitionAmounts are per semester hour for Spring 2012KCC district residents ......................................................$107($97 tuition, $10 fees)Residents 60 & older .........................................................$10*Non-district residents ................................................$161.61($97 tuition, $10 fees and $54.61 nonresident fee.)

Laboratory/course fees are additional. The cost of each course, including tuition and fees is noted in each course listing. Kankakee Community College reserves the right to change incidental fees and tuition without notice. Senior citizens (60 years of age or older) residing in Illinois will not be assessed any tuition for credit division courses provided sufficient tuition-paying students are en-rolled in the class to cover the cost of offering it. Senior citizens will be assessed a $10 fee for each credit hour plus any required course fees. *A resident of KCC District 520 who wants to pursue a certificate or occupational degree program not available at KCC may apply for a chargeback if he/she plans to attend another public community college in Illinois which offers that program, given that KCC does not have a cooperative agreement for the program with another college. Applicants should file a chargeback request with KCC at least 30 days before the beginning of the semester. If the application is approved, the student is entitled to support for the out-of-district tuition for major courses in his/her program as well as any orientation courses required by the college the student is attending. Please phone 815-802-8500 for more details. Non-residents should petition their local community college for assistance with KCC programs. Those residing outside of Illinois should call 815-802-8140 for tuition and enrollment information.

Payment options Registration is not final – and enrollment is not guaranteed – in any course until all costs have been paid in full. Payments for tuition and fees are accepted at the college Accounting Office. Payment options include:Cash. Accepted only if you are registering in person.Personal check. Make checks payable to Kankakee Community College.Visa®, Discover® or MasterCard®. In person, by telephone, or online.Tuition Payment Plan. Visit www.kcc.edu/facts for more information.Online payment. Payment may be made online through ‘Make a Payment’ at KCConnect (http://connect.kcc.edu). Payments must be made in full with a credit card.

Course cancellations In most cases, if fewer than 12 students enroll in a course, the course may be canceled. The college will make every attempt to notify students in advance of cancellations. A student who enrolled in a canceled course will receive a 100 percent refund of tuition and fees for the canceled course.

Course withdrawal policy When necessary to withdraw from a course or from the college, a student may do so without receiving a punitive grade any time before the end of the 10th week of a 16-week semester or before 63 percent of a term has elapsed for classes scheduled for fewer than 16 weeks. The last day to withdraw is noted on your registration statement. If circumstances prevent a student from coming to the col-lege to submit a withdrawal form, the student may withdraw by mailing or faxing a request to the Office of Admissions and Registration. If a withdrawal is sent by mail, the letter must be postmarked no later than the last withdrawal date allowed for a particular semester or class. Mail withdrawals received over the weekend that are post-marked on or before the last day to withdraw will be honored and will be processed the following workday. No withdrawals will be accepted over the telephone. All withdrawal requests must be in writing and signed and dated by the student. Questions on the withdrawal process can be answered by the Office of Admissions and Registration at 815-802-8526.

Refund policy Withdrawing students will receive a 100 percent tuition refund through 10 percent of the duration of the course. No refund is given after 10 percent of a course has elapsed – with the exception of drop/add transactions (see “drop/add transactions,” below). Refund dates are noted on your registration statement. If the final day for a refund falls on a weekend or on a date when the campus is closed, the refund deadline is the following Monday. For the exact refund deadline for any course, see your registration statement, contact the Office of Admissions and Registration at 815-802-8520 or the Accounting Office at 815-802-8140. The office hours are 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Fridays. Offices are closed most Fridays in May, June and July. Refunds will not be granted due to a change of course instructor.

Drop/add transactions Students who drop a course before its midterm and add another course at the same time can apply the tuition and fees from the dropped course to the course being added when enrollment for the new course is during the same semester or term. Please be aware that the added class may include additional fees which are to be paid at that time. This also may affect your financial aid.

Please note: Success depends on self-discipline and the ability to learn without face-to-face interaction (online courses) and with limited face-to-face interaction (hybrid courses). KCC’s online and hybrid courses maintain the high standards of classroom courses. Academic progress is established and maintained through regular course participation. Online and hybrid students need to be prepared to interact with their faculty member and classmates in writing. Strong reading and writing skills in the English language are critical.
