HINDERTON School, in Whitby, held a fantastic
family afternoon of fun to raise money for theirLondon 2012 Marathon Appeal.
Seven runners took part in the jog of their lives
last month in a bid to raise vital funds for a new ball
pool for the school.
And the school was trying to help the runners
raise funds by organising a series of events
including the fun day.
Local residents, parents and pupils attended the
event where pupils even got the unique opportunity
to soak headteacher Liam Dowling by throwing wetsponges at him!
Marathon runner Simon C Jones was also in
attendance and helped draw the rafe with pupils.
Hinderton headteacher, Liam Dowling, said: We
are extremely grateful to our seven runners for
offering to run the London Marathon in our name
and helping us raise the funds we need for our new
ball pool.
The event was a great success - we all had a
fantastic afternoon and managed to raise somemoney.
Hinderton is a primary-age special school for
children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions in
Ellesmere Port.
The Chester Lions Club secure and donate Gold
Bond charity places for organisations each year
and this year decided to offer the places to the
schools runners.
The Hinderton runners are: Simon C Jones,
Simon J Jones, Richard Heyes, Richard Daymond,
Marcus Germany, Craig Forsyth and Nick Clark.

Tom and Babes owner has sadly died and they are still residing in their owners home,
which has now been cleared of all furniture so they dont even have a sofa to cuddle up
on. They are desperately awaiting a new loving home, and want to stay together. They
are both used to living in a quiet safe home with no children. As a long haired girlie,
Babe will appreciate a regular brush.
BABE
Such a dear cute little cat, who cant meow, just squeaks
My name is Babe. I am about 12 years old so a golden oldie, I was a
stray but a kind lady took me off the streets and after much love I made
myself at home. I have been living in the same house for as long as I
can remember. I like somewhere quiet so tend to nd a quiet spot to
sleep. I dont tend to go out much so would happily stay in
My owner died a month ago and I miss the strokes and attention. Sadly no one in the family
can give me a home so I am looking for a new mum. I would like to nd someone who wouldlook after me and give me lots of love during my golden years
TOM
Missing his strokes and cuddles
My name is Tom. I am about 6 years old. I love attention and enjoy lots of
strokes and cuddles. I do go out now and then but prefer stretching out
enjoying the warmth of the re having a long nap
My owner died a month ago and I miss the strokes and attention. Sadly
no one in the family can give me a home so I am looking for a new mum.

Where an estate agent actsor Mr Jones in connection
with the sale o 10 LimeGrove, which is beingpurchased by Mrs Smith, it
is not unusual or the estateagent to also be acting orMrs Smith in connection

Arguably the estate agenthas an interest in the sale oNumber 10 proceeding (overand above his ees or actingin the sale o Number 20

Parks to be dedicated
in jubilee challengeTHREE sites in this area are to be incorporated
in to a national long term project for the Diamond
Jubilee.
The Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge, operated by Fields in Trust (FIT), is a campaign
to protect 2012 outdoor recreational spaces
in communities all across the country as a
permanent living legacy of the Diamond Jubilee
and the London Olympics and Paralympics.
From sports pitches to woodlands, childrens
play areas to gardens and bicycle trails to parks,
the QE II Fields Challenge will protect a diverse
range of outdoor spaces ensuring that there is
something to appeal to everyone.Rossmore, Whitby Park and Rivacre Valley Park
will now go forward to be considered by FIT as
part of the project.
Executive Member for Culture and Recreation, Councillor Stuart Parker, said:
Nominated land must have the principle use of outdoor sport, play and or recreation,
be a minimum of half an acre in size and be under Council ownership or control. We
asked community groups and local people for their help in nominating pieces of land
accessible to the public - receiving some really great options.
This decision means that the rst six will now go forward to FIT, whilst we continue to
investigate other potential sites for inclusion later in the year.In 2011 the Council asked communities to support a national programme which will
see areas of land becoming dedicated Queen Elizabeth II Fields.

The nursery is registered for 102 children and provides funding for early educa-tion for three and four year olds.
The nursery is divided into four areas; Baby Room, Lower and Upper Toddlers andPre-School. We are constantly aiming to provide safe, rich and varied environmentsfor the children to extend their learning and development.
We strive to promote happy independent learners by giving them choices froma wide range of materials that support their interests. Our practice here is to be

Q. I do a lot of exercise and need to nd a mascara that
wont smudge or run, but I have very sensitive eyes and I
am really struggling to nd one that is suitable. Can you
suggest anything?
A. Finding a mascara that doesnt smudge or run, is truly waterproof
and wont damage your lashes is a challenge for lots of women.Finding one that is also kind to sensitive eyes is almost impossible!
The problem is that during wear, small amounts of mascara
can ake or dissolve off the lashes and enter the eye causing
irritation. Coupled with the fact that waterproof mascaras
generally have to be removed with an eye makeup remover,
which can also cause sensitivity, can all add up to a
whole lot of trouble for some wearers of mascara.
We have sourced, and now stock, a new type of
mascara that forms a tube around the eyelashes.
It is suitable for even the most sensitive of eyes,
is waterproof and dissolves off easily at the end ofthe day with warm water. We are so condent in its
abilities that we are providing free application to try
before you buy. For further tips on how to look after
sensitive eyes visit the newsletter page of our website

Q. In my skin care product is an ingredient
called palmitoyl pentapeptide-3. What is it
and is it dangerous?
A. It is far from being dangerous; it has a high safety
record and is a high performance, skin rejuvenating
ingredient used in results focused anti-ageing
products.
It is a synthetic protein which acts as a cellular
messenger to stimulate collagen production in the
skin. Olgiopentapeptide works in a similar manner as
do Retinol and Vitamin C and all help to restructure
the cellular matrix to promote healthy, vibrant skin.
Palmitoyl pentapeptide-3 is a good anti-ageing option
for anyone sensitive to retinoids and alpha-hydroxy
acids as there is very little risk of skin irritation.

MAY BLOOMSGardeninG by JaneT HeaTH
May is probbl m fvourite months the trees nd shrubs re clothed infresh new folige nd there re somestunning owers out its a month ofpinks nd white with blossom on thecrb pple trees nd hwthorns.
Paeonies ower in May with sumptuousblooms in shades of pink and red. Do notplant too deeply, their new shoots shouldbe just below the soil surface. Mulch them
in winter with a layer of compost to protectthem from frost. Although they are supposedto resent moving, they can be moved if you doit carefully in autumn.
Shrubs such as Deutzia, Exochorda xmacrantha The Bride, Spirea Bridal Wreathall have pale pink or white owers. If youwant scent in the garden, Daphnes andViburnum carlessii and burkwoodii varietieswith pom poms of scented blooms will giveyou a waft of perfume as you pass by. Placenear paths or seating areas to enjoy themas there is little point in putting them at theback of a border where the perfume will bewasted!
Rhododendrons and Azaleas also ower inMay. Both do better in sheltered spots in a
slightly acid freedraining soil
whichdoesnot
dryoutso avoidheavyclay and full sun. The deciduous Azaleasespecially the yellow varieties have perfumed
owers so seek them out if you have the rightsoil and situation.
Harden off Fuschias, Dahlias and largeleaved Cannas gradually for planting outwhen it is no longer frosty. Cannas andDahlias do well in containers planted up withlower growing bedding plants like trailinglobelia and petunias.
In the vegetable plot earth up the potatoesthat you planted in March for an early crop in
June. Sow seeds of purple sprouting broccoli, leeks, carrots, french beans and salads.Plant out your tomato plants, courgettes andpumpkins but protect with eece nettingif frosts are forecast. I sow seeds of runnerbeans indoors in pots so that they avoid beingeaten by slugs as soon as they show theirheads above the soil. Slugs cant climb morethan 30cms so I plant them out when they aremore than that in height!
