2 KEY CLUB <Whitney Young/I-I District>

For you Key Clubberswho don’t know, Key Clubisn’t just DOING service, butwe also do fundraisingactivities to raise money forgood causes. After all of yourhard work, it’s nice to seewhat you helped accomplishby your determination.

In those regards, Ipresent you with… CAMP

INDEPENDENCE! Our KeyClub District Project isSpastic Paralysis, so basically,we help to fund SpasticParalysis research throughthe Spastic ParalysisResearch Foundation.

Camp Independence isa camp for people withSpastic Paralysis so that theycan learn to do things for

themselves. For instance, with the older campers, thecounselors teach them how todo their own laundry andhow to cook simple meals forthemselves. When thecampers leave, they arereassured that they have abrighter future to lookforward to; it is a future thatdoesn’t involve relying ontheir parents for the rest of

their lives.On visitors’ day, we

met one of the scientistsresponsible for the reversal of

Spastic Paralysis survival rates. His name was Dr. McLone, andhe was a wonderful man whoseeyes shone with love for thesechildren with Spastic.

After the speeches, thecounselors introduced themselvesalong with their campers. Most of the counselors highlighted asmall achievement for theircamper during the few days

they’d been there, and though itwas a small event, it was a hugemilestone in preparation foradulthood.

Needless to say, afterseeing all of the wonderful thingsthat our money contributes to,the 4 Key Clubbers from WhitneyYoung who went are now evenmore determined to run the extramile for our district project. Our

extra mile now equals 2 extramiles in the lives of each of thecampers and others living withSpastic Paralysis.

Whitney Young? Does

their school have a Key

Whitney Young Key Club,we like to share the Key

Club love, it is rather

convenient when you

have the District New

I asked Nancy Su,

summary of her
