Since each RIDESHARE performance is unique, with the musicians improvising based on the energy and inspiration of the moment, every effort was made to translate this performance to the audio recording. The trio set up and exchanged instruments exactly the same way they do onstage to insure the listener an authentic musical experience. RIDESHARE was named when two East Coast musicians looking to rebrand their club-date duo as a serious jazz band “took a ride” to California and spotted the perfect name for a jazz group on a road sign. Dan (piano, organ, vibes, melodica, accordion) leads this multi- instrumental duo from keyboards featuring piano, bass and Hammond organ sounds. Audrey (soprano/alto flute, piano) starts off on flute, and moves seamlessly to keyboards when Dan takes a ride on vibes. Jazz, blues and Latin rhythms, from an Alesis SR-18 drum machine or a live Percussionist, complete the group. RIDESHARE has played restaurants, jazz clubs, private parties, and art shows from coast to coast. In their hometown of Laguna Beach, they recently performed at Sawdust Art Festival, Art-A-Fair, Fête de la Musique, & Artwalk, but are available to travel wherever the music takes them. Our instrumentation can adapt to meet your needs. Electric piano and organ (stacked) and flute, with two small amps is our basic setup for smaller venues. With a little more space we can add vibes (still as a duo). Our trio setup, with full PA, is flute, electric piano and organ, vibes, and a percussionist.
