L5. Don't rub your eyes : Rubbing your eyes

with contaminated hands can transfer a lot of germs

into them and cause eye infections.

    6. Use a hand sanitizer: For times when you can't

wash your hands, carry a hand sanitizing lotion with

you. This becomes particularly important when you

have to eat out in the middle of the day.

    7. Carry tissues when commuting: Tissues are

better than cloth handkerchiefs as the latter

accumulate germs on them, leading to infections.

Therefore, carrying wet tissues is a better idea as they

    are disposable.

    8. Avoid touching your hair: The hair is

one of the most exposed areas of the body. Avoid

touching your hair to prevent transferring those

    germs on to your hands.

ignored, tend to aggravate and spread all over the

    body.

    10. Clean your body after playing with pets:

While playing with pets and strays is nice, they carry

germs. Make sure to wash your body after you finish

    playing with your pets.

    11. Get immunized: Get yourself

immunized against some common infections .

    12. Eat healthy: Avoid eating junk food or street

food. These unhealthy food items as they are harmful

for health. Eat food which is cooked in a hygienic

    MONTHS OF A YEAR

The 12 Months of the Year

A year has 365 days divided into 12 months in the modern day Gregorian calendar. Each

month has either 28, 30 or 31 days during the common year. Nearly every 4 years is a Leap

Year with 366 days because we add an extra (intercalary) day at the end of February, the

    Leap Day on 29 February.

How many have 28, 30 or 31 days?

The Gregorian calendar has four months with a length of 30 days and seven months that

are 31 days long. February is the only month that is 28 days long in common years and 29

    days long in leap years.

Learn From Stories!BERRIES & THE NETTLES

Once, a boy was playing near some

    hedges laden with berries that

appeared ripe and juicy. His mouth

watered and he licked his chops.

Immediately, he started gathering the berries. Just then he got stung

sharply by a nettle. He started feeling pain and soon, a rash appeared on

    his hand.

Leaving the collection of berries, he ran home and with tears in his eyes,

told everything to his mother. Sobbing hard, he said, "Mom! I touched

them lightly but they stung me hard."

The mother smiled and caressing her son, replied, "They stung you

because you touched them lightly. Had you held them firmly, they won't

have hurt you. You can't get anything without facing dangers. Every rose

has some thorns to protect it. So, if you want berries, learn to grasp the

    nettles."

    KNOW YOUR WORTH

Once upon a time, Mercury, the God of skill, was tickled by a strange idea. He became anxious to

know how human beings estimated his worth in comparison to other Gods.

So, he disguised himself as a man and came to the Earth. Roaming about, he came to the house of a

sculptor where he saw idols of various Gods, including his

    own.

Then he approached the sculptor and asked, "What price

would you charge for the idol of Juno, the Goddess of

    marriage?"

    The sculptor replied, "two dollars".

Again, Mercury asked, "What for the idol of Jupiter, the Chief

    of Gods?"

    "Five dollars", replied the sculptor.

"And how much for Mercury?" asked the God.

"Oh that. I shall give that free if you buy the other two", pat

    came the reply.

Mercury was cut to the quick and disappeared.
