Care at a cost
• Providing the care for children with life-limiting illnesses is very expensive.
• We could not spend less than we do without reducing the service.
• Currently over £3m to run children’s service
• We continuously monitor spending to make sure all our money is spent wisely.
££ - Running costs - ££• 82% goes directly on running our services for the care of
patients and their families
• £9,995 per week to help families care for a sick child at home
• £23,000 per week for all the specialist care and facilities at the children’s hospice
• £1,390 per day to provide day hospice services for adult patients
• £28,000 per week for the total care of patients offered in our adult In-patient Unit
• Plus much more!
Raising money
• 75% raised by the local communities we serve
• Couldn’t do it without our volunteers!
• Only 25% comes from statutory sources
Our challenge
• Raise enough money to cover running costs.
• Develop and improve our services when needed.
• Continue to provide high quality hospice care for all who need it.
