This course is designed to provide students with understanding of basic principles, concepts, terminology
and practices of management in all types of enterprises. Students will be introduced to management theory,
research and practice. Particular attention will be given to the basic managerial functions such as planning,

designed to provide a comprehensive initialization and introduction to the field of financial management.

characteristics of different market forms for goods and services as well as factors of production. Some

environmental protection.

This course aims to familiarize students with statistics and its applications in accounting and business
research. It covers basic functions of data collection and its classification. It also introduces students how to
measure the central tendency and dispersion in frequency distribution. It is intended to provide students
with advanced knowledge of statistics. Introducing basic concepts of probability and statistics for business
students. It also introduces index number and time series analysis. Students will learn the difference
between descriptive and inferential statistics and how to use them in statistical analysis. This course
introduces the concept of hypothesis testing and sampling methods and their importance in real world. This
provides the understanding of the nature of randomness of real world problems, the formulation of
statistical methods by using intuitive arguments and thereby making meaningful decisions.

and banking, economic fluctuations and international trade economics.

as investment in human capital, along with labor demand and wage elasticity, the labor market equilibrium,
wages and distribution theories, wage differentials in the market, ending with labor market in Saudi Arabia.

The course focuses on the knowledge and skills associated with clearly receiving, transmitting and
communicating information within the business environment. Using communication theory and practical
application, students will develop effective writing, speaking, and presentation skills required conveying a

The course is a theoretical approach to analyze the behavior of the individual consumer and supplier in the
marketplace. It includes consumer demand theory, costs of production, and market structures ranging from
pure competition to monopoly. An over view analyses will be conducted to factor markets, mainly labor
and capital markets and a hands on environmental issues.
The main learning outcome of the course will be as follows:
i. Explain the theories of consumers, producers and agency theory.
ii. Describe what is market imperfections and various tools used by the government for market
interference and their implications.

Course Code: ECN213 Course Name: Money and Banking

This course is a continuation and expansion of money and banking concepts introduced in Macroeconomics
(ECN102), which includes money, banks, and other financial intermediaries, as well as analysis of the role
and functions of central banks. Concepts of monetary control, monetary policy, and international banking
are extensively and intensively analyzed. The course goal is for students to master the logic, intuition and
operation of a financial system - money, financial markets (money and capital markets, debt and equity
markets, derivatives markets), and financial institutions and intermediaries (the Central Bank, depository
institutions, credit unions, pension funds, insurance companies, venture capital firms, investment banks,
mutual funds, etc.). In other words, how money/capital change hands between agents over time, directly

The course is an intermediate-level theory examining determinants of GDP, employment, and inflation. It
emphasizes economic model building (both classical and Keynesian) and the use of monetary and fiscal
policies to control business cycles and inflation. An overview of international trade and finance issues are
treated in an integral approach to macroeconomics theory.

applying input output analysis. Issues like migration from rural areas to urban and consequences are
critically analyzed. The course looks at factors instrumental in determining economic growth in various
segments of the economy; linked with urban problems associated with growth.

Course Code: ECN215 Course Name: Agricultural Economics
Credits: 3 (3+0+0) Pre-requisite: ECN 102
This course focuses on the Agricultural Economics based on the development of analytical, quantitative,
computing and communication skills with an academic emphasis on commodity markets and agricultural
and natural resource issues. Skills highly regarded by employers are gained throughout the course and by

research experience in the final year. Your studies may involve applied international trade, agribusiness
management, marketing, agricultural and resource policy, and marketing and finance. It addresses the most
challenging current issues of the day, such as carbon, water, food security, climate change, and the
environment. Units of study are offered by both the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment and other
relevant faculties. The course is flexible and allows students to undertake both a non-agricultural economics
and agricultural issues too.

The objective of this course is to develop an understanding of the basic elements in marketing strategy such
as product planning, market selection, distribution and pricing. In addition it also focuses on the process of
integrating all these elements in a coherent marketing mix. The course starts with definitions and
discussions on basic concepts of Marketing, the evolution of Marketing and its role in business and
economy. This is followed by an analysis of the environments in which Marketing operates, Market Types
and analysis (of Consumer markets and Industrial markets), Measuring and Forecasting Market Demand,
Marketing Information System, Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning. The course then ends by
discussing the Marketing mix elements by emphasizing on the important decisions related to product, price,
promotion, distribution and logistics and processes. Other special topics include International marketing,
service marketing, and social marketing with some aspects of roles of IT in marketing.
Accordingly, the main learning outcomes will be as follows:
i. To be acquainted with the basic concepts of marketing and how it has evolved.
