Extraordinary Ministers please pick up your October schedules from the mailbox. The Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) will begin classes in September. The classes are for individuals who are inquiring about becoming Catholic. Anyone interested should contact Peter or Jane Regan at 789-3620. Please see the Informational insert from Religious Education in our weekly bulletin. It gives important dates and events for the coming school year. The Eastern Shore Literacy Council will hold their 21

st annual Drive for Literacy Golf Tournament on 10/6/17 at the

beautiful Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club. All funds raised will go towards the Council’s free English programs for Adults and Family Literacy Programs, so that those residents of the Shore who need help with their English skills can participate fully in their community. Additional information is on their Facebook page, their website at shoreliteracy.org or by calling the office at 757-789-1761. The registration form is on our bulletin board. There will be a Rosary for “The Country” on October 14

th at 12:00 noon in front of St. Peter’s. It will be both in

English and Spanish. We will be part of over 22,000 Rosaries being said across the United States on that date. Please plan to attend and pray for our country.

September 23 – 24, 2017

The Knights of Columbus will be holding their annual OktoberFest on Sunday, October 15

th from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. Tickets are $10 each for adults and

$5.00 for children 6-12. There will be a limited number of OktoberFest tickets available at the door. Also available, are tickets for a chance on a bushel of seaside oysters. Knights will be selling tickets after each Mass. Get your tickets early. The event will be held outdoors.

If you want to give a donation, we would really appreciate it. There is an envelope box at the back and the side door of the church. If you want to

request a prayer, there is a space on the envelope to write names, or for your personal intentions. Thank you very much.
