NEW COLOUR When you then curl up to sleep, exhausted and rosy cheeked,

sleeping soundly is no problem at all.

You have chosen your outdoor gear with care and with the knowledge that at Klättermusen we have done all we can to produce clothes that are as toxin-free and sustainable as possible. The backpack with your gear in is made from recycled fishing nets, your jacket was made without fluorocarbons and your pants can be recycled. You know that the products last for a long time and when you have finally worn them out you can get your deposit back.

And knowing this, sleeping soundly is no problem at all.

Nature is deceptive. It can be harsh and cold and unpredictable. Sleeping outside in a tent or snow cave in the winter is challenging for many people. We are now presenting a series of sleeping bags, the warmest allows you to stay out in extreme cold conditions.

When it is dark outside and the stars are bright, you can crawl into your tent and know that…

Versatile elegancemjölner 2.0 expedition pack

Mjölner is Thor’s magic battle hammer that was crafted by dwarves, never misses its target and always returns to its owner. When it’s not in use, Mjölner conveniently shrinks to a size that means it can be worn as a necklace.

This is an extremely advanced pack, but it is very easy to adjust. The floating V-Free Flex™ shoulder harness may feel a little tight and stiff at first, but the system really starts to show its strengths after only a few kilometres on the trail.In the shop, a conventional padded carrying system feels deceptively comfortable, but pain can start building up when carrying a heavy load, due to pressure on the muscles. To the maximum benefit from the Butterfly Bridge® shoulder pads, you must adjust their length so that the bridge is on top of your shoulders. Always tighten the hip belt’s top buckles more than the lower ones. One big compartment means that packing is easy, but that it may take more time to find a special item. Use a drybag in wet conditions.

The pack is not totally waterproof even though it’s a rolltop, so use a drybag in wet conditions. Gungner is a hardcore, no-nonsense pack that works and works, year after year. The carrying system does not offer all the adjustable features found in the Arvaker series.

Granite (granit in Swedish) is one of the Earth’s most common rock types and has a coarse structure. Granit was also one of the first backpacks created by Klättermusen.

Flint (flinta in Swedish) is a type of rock that was used to make tools in the Stone Age. It can also be used for making fire. Flinta was one of the first backpacks created by Klättermusen.

Ratatosk was the squirrel that carried messages and gossip between an eagle that lived at the top of Yggrasil (tree of the world) and the dragon Nidhögg who lived at the roots; a kind of messenger between high and low places or people.

Mimer has a showerproof zip, but the seams are not taped so it is not fully waterproof. The outside stretch pocket should not be used for sensitive electronics in the rain. There is a simple laptop compartment inside, but it does not offer the same level of protection as Gnå.

Mimer was a giant who guarded the spring of wisdom at the root of the world tree, Yggdrasil. Anyone who drank from Mimer’s well would know everything about what had happened and what would happen. Mimer knew most things, because he drank from the spring every day.

Although the fabric has the highest tear strength possible for a lightweight material, it is still very low compared to our other backpacks. You should be prepared to use the enclosed repair kits now and again. If you want to haul your backpack around a lot, choose another Klättermusen pack. It is not waterproof, so please use a drybag for your dry socks and sleeping bag when it is raining outside.

Ran was the goddess of the ocean depths and was married to a giant, Ägir. Ran caught drowned people in her giant net and held them prisoner in her halls at the bottom of the ocean.

Ägir was a giant who ruled the oceans. He lived in a golden palace, where the Norse gods would sometimes go to party. Ägir was married to Ran.

Hugin was one of Odin’s two ravens. Hugin means “the one who is inclined” or “the thought”. Hugin created truth and order along with the other raven, Munin, “the one who cares” or “memory”.

The front pocket allows you to make full use of the area between the hip belt and shoulder harness when carrying a backpack. The lightweight, two-and-a-half layer material is not as strong as the material in the heavier Brede and Froste, thus life expectancy is shorter for the Ask jacket.

This is the shell garment for people who like to keep it lightweight, but who still want durable equipment with a long life. Skidbladner does not have a rigid wind funnel and is therefore not designed for expeditions to the North Pole or similar places.

Ask was the first man, and Embla was the first woman. They were created by Odin, Höner and Lodur by giving life to two trees, an ash (ask in Swedish) and an elm. They lived in Midgård and were probably very, very happy.

Skidbladner is Frejas super light ship built from cobwebs and bird spittle. The ship can be folded up and kept in a pocket – even though it has enough space for 30 men.



Allgrön is a slim jacket with great fit. If you are on the large side, you should perhaps try a different jacket, or one size larger than normal. The jacket does not have a rigid wind funnel on the hood, so is not suitable for an expedition to somewhere really cold. Recycled polyester is not as durable as polyamide, but you do get a product with high ECO-index points.

Allgrön is an island that is owned by the giant, Fjölvar. It is very beautiful and it is said that the god Oden like to visit and seduce girls who are dazzled by his appearance.

If you were allowed to take only one pair of pants with you on a mountain tour, these are the ones you should choose. Great for all seasons, but with extra layers in the winter.

This product is more hardwearing than lightweight, but if you are an active person who’s not scared of a snowstorm, then this is the garment for you. Freke is not very comfortable without long johns underneath. It is designed more for the rough mountains than for après ski, but you will have a unique appearance at the bar.

Vimur has a generous fit and is thus suitable even if you are a little on the large side. The mix of cotton and polyester in the fabric mean the pants can withstand more abrasion then 100% cotton would cope with.

Vimur is a river that Tor crosses on the way to Geiröd. He was not wanted there, and the giant’s daughter, Gjalp, causes flooding to stop him.

In the winter of 2012, a group of friends travelled to Eikesdalen, Norway, to go ice climbing. The conditions looked superb and there was a good chance of climbing a number of new routes

due to there being more ice than normal, but that was the week before. When they arrived, over a metre of snow had fallen in the previous two days, the first snow to settle that season. The

avalanche risk was high and they were all covered by snowslides at some point. Klättermusen’s clothes were given a thorough test and finished with top grades.

All the pictures in this workbook were taken on that trip. In this picture, climbers Pierre Olson and Marcus Henningsson are on the fourth pitch of the 600-metre tall Brudesløret.
