November 2014

JBK moved to Poland…

Hired an assistant (Consultant, couldn’t hire people without a legal entity)

Looked for cooperation partners; legal, financial, bank and real estate…

KMD operational location is a business lounge in a hotel…

December 2014

Went through the registration process of KMD Poland Sp. z.o.o. incl. capitalization

Started the process for finding suitable locations, realized that a temporary location was needed, found 8 potential permanent locations

Started a tender-like process in regard to furniture

Screened the 8 potential locations together with FM, Security and network people from KMD A&S

Moved office to Regus

KMD in the business lounge

Signed contract on the temporary location

Started negotiations with network and technical equipment vendors

Signed contract with furniture vendor and ordered the furniture for 110 workstations according to Polish standard

Hired external financial service firm to take care of bookkeeping, public reporting and statistics

February 2015

Started the shopping of everything you could think of…

Started preparing the movement plans

Re-established the network in the temporary office

Started plan moves from external consultant vendors to the KMD Poland office

Borrowed temporary furniture from the furniture vendor, so we could move the first people as planned by primo March

Started the blog in Danish for KMD employees in Denmark

Signed contract with DTZ project management team

Re-establishment of network

The first consultants moved into KMD Poland’s office in Warsaw

Consecutive move of consultants from external vendors to the KMD Poland office, around +40 consultants in KMD Poland office ultimo March

Signed LOI on potential permanent location

Legal due diligence of the lease contract for the permanent location

Started negotiations with the landlord regarding fit-out, architecture and future technical setup, etc.

Had again visit from FM, Security and network in regard overall plans/architecture for the permanent office

Hired the first KMD Poland staff

Started the hiring process of HR Manager, Finance Manager and 5 Competence Managers

First consultants in KMD Poland

New tables being assembled

Sign lease contract, because the fit-out of the permanent office location will not start before the contract is signed, which can potential delay the opening of the permanent office…

Finalize the project plan for the fit-out of the permanent office…

Finalize the hiring process of the HR and Finance Managers

Move the rest of consultants from external vendors to the KMD Poland office

Finish an updated “Go to market” plan and strategy for the next stages of the establishment

Visit from Advent (advisory board meeting to be held in Poland)

Started the process to hire Competence Managers

Passed +100 people in KMD Poland

Celebration of KMD’s first year in Warsaw

The fit-out started of the permanent office

The first board meeting in KMD Poland Sp. z o.o. took place

4 Competence Managers hired (2 .NET; 1 Java/SAP; 1 test/QA)

Finance Manager hired

Work started on potential work contract models (FTE contra B2B models) involving DZP lawyers and PwC

First steps initiated in implementing KMD 2.0 in Poland during the autumn 2015

The temporary office is now fully operational

Extend the temporary office up to 174 workstations

Finalize the full fit-out plans, including security, audio/visual setup, networks, etc.

Monitor and follow the total building phase and fit-out of the permanent office

Setting up a translation function in KMD Poland

Launching the first version of KMD Poland’s homepage

Prepare for takeover of the permanent office space on September 4th , 2015

Official opening will take place November 4th, 2015

Starting up employer branding campaign

Start hirer own staff, together with Competence Managers and HH companies, etc.

Planned to reach 235 people in KMD Poland by ultimo 2015

Remove the resistance/negative mindset from the mind of Danish colleagues, in regard to the stereotype perceptions of Polish people…

Become equal as colleagues and part of the KMD family/day-to-day mindset… and recognized as equal professionals…

KMD processes and models…

Adapt and train local teams in the KMD unified operating models…

Actively participate in the development of effective standard planning, processes and delivery models with a global view…

Exchange ideas and participate actively in forums of interest of KMD Poland now and in the future…

Practical issues to overcome…

Ensure that all required information/data/ descriptions need for all employees, who are non Danish speaking, is available in a common language…

Ensure that all project managers and project responsible staff work after standardized processes, because that is a key factor when you work in a matrix organization…

Ensure that all managers and leaders in KMD positively advocate, and work for the integration of global teams and team members…

Get our people to focus on solutions and benefits contra problems and challenges in regard to Global Delivery (KMD Poland / Offshore delivery)…

To effectively communicate, we must realize that we are all different in the way we perceive the world and use this understanding as a guide to our communication with others.
