Tactical Krav Maga Level 1 Instructor Course
ISOA INDIANA SWAT TEAM ASSOCIATION Knox County Sheriff's Office in cooperation with IMI Academy is hosting the first Tactical Krav Maga Level 1 Course. 1. General Remarks 1.1 The following course serves as an initial model program for tactical training that may
undergo future modifications and updates according to evolving requirements. 1.2 The course is suitable for trainees that have previous background in Full Contact, Combat
Sports, Striking Systems and/or Krav Maga. 1.3 The main area of focus is the development of personal and professional competencies
and skills required for the role of Tactical Krav Maga Instructor. 1.4 On successful completion of the course, trainees will obtain certification of Tactical Krav
Maga Level 1 Instructor.

2. Course Outline 2.1 Major theoretical topics of the course include:
2.1.1 Fundamental principles and strategies of Krav Maga; civil and governmental aspects of Krav Maga as a tool to neutralize an active shooter enemy; differences between Krav Maga and martial arts; the concept of Tactical Krav Maga.
2.1.2 Introduction to Security, including general guidelines and directives. 2.1.3 The Security Officer and his/her specific duties and requirements. 2.1.4 Safety in training and operations.
2.2 Major practical topics of the course include: 2.2.1 Core techniques of Tactical Krav Maga: defensive and offensive maneuvers,
fighting stance. 2.2.2 The Israeli Method for using a handgun in Krav Maga. 2.2.3 Disarming techniques for melee weapon threats. 2.2.4 Disarming techniques for rifle and handgun threats. 2.2.5 Integrated training exercises (ITEs). 2.2.6 Defeating, handcuffing and frisking opponent(s). 2.2.7 Simulations and fighting drills.
2.3 Guidelines for effective Tactical Krav Maga instruction: 2.3.1 Theoretical aspects of instruction. 2.3.2 Practical aspects of instruction. 2.3.3 Dedicated simulation and tactical training of Krav Maga scenarios. 2.3.4 Krav Maga instructor examinations.
