CWCCA’S PROCEDURE FOR JUDGING BEST OF BREED COMPETITION
Entries for Best of Breed judging will be brought into the ring in groups not to exceed 10, at the discretion of the judge. IF YOU HAVE MULTIPLE BEST OF BREED ENTRIES & WANT THEM SEPARATED IN THE CATALOG, PLEASE NOTIFY THE SUPERINTENDENT IN WRITING BEFORE ENTRIES CLOSE & DOCUMENT IT FOR YOUR RECORDS. Changes are not allowed after entries have closed without documentation of notification that request was made prior to close of entries. Groupings will be posted at the Superintendent's table, the armband table, and ringside when they become available. In the event that an individual should make the cut with more than one exhibit ‐ it is their respon‐sibility to have alternate handlers available for their entries (as would occur under normal judg‐ing procedures)

NON‐REGULAR CLASSES (Involving Single Dog Entries)
VETERAN DOG and VETERAN BITCH CLASSES – (Divided by Age). The Veteran 7 – 9 class is for dogs and bitches, seven (7) years of age or older on the day of the show and less than nine (9) years of age. The Veteran 9 – 11 class is for dogs and bitches nine (9) years of age or older on the day of the show and less than eleven (11) years of age. The Veteran 11 and older class is for dogs and bitches eleven (11) year of age or older on the day of the show. Neutered dogs and spayed bitches may compete in the Veterans Classes at Independent Special es. The winner of each of these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed.
HERDING TITLED DOG and HERDING TITLED BITCH CLASSES For any Cardigan Welsh Corgi that has acquired an AKC Herding Title of record will be eligible for this class. The winner of these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed.
Altered males or spayed bitches may NOT be exhibited in any single entry non‐regular class except Veterans. If entered in Veteran or Herding Titled Classes, they may NOT be exhibited in BOB if they are defeated in either the Veteran or Herding Titled non‐regular class. Ins nct tests are a cer ficate NOT a tle and therefore do not qualify a dog for this class.

NON‐REGULAR CLASSES (Involving Mul ple Dog Entries)
STUD DOG CLASS is for Stud Dogs and two (2) of their Get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. The Stud Dog cannot be shown as the Get for another Stud Dog. Owner of Stud Dog need not necessarily be the owner of Get. Offspring only to be judged based on their merits. Each dog making up the Get must be individ‐ually entered in one of the Regular Conforma on Classes, Best of Breed Compe on or a Non‐ Regular Conforma on Class (other than the Stud Dog Class) at this show. BROOD BITCH CLASS, same as for Stud Dog except subs tute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Pro‐ duce for Get where appropriate. A castrated male may be entered as the Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as the Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class.
BRACE CLASS, for two dogs that are similar in appearance, performing in unison and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Dogs compe ng in brace compe ons must have at least one common owner. Dogs need not be entered in another class. Brace Class must be indicated on the entry form. If more than one brace is entered by common owners, the dogs comprising each Brace Unit must be designated “Brace #1, Brace #2, etc”. Indicate on each entry form the AKC number/Registered name of the other member of the brace. As the judge’s decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch and Brace Classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, none of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class.

Novice Class ‐ shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the me entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with compe ‐on present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without compe on leading to a Best Junior
award with compe on would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with compe on, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with compe on present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, a er the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by no fy‐ing the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. Open Class ‐ shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with compe on present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Master Class ‐ will be for boys & girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won 10 Best Junior wins with compe on. The calendar for this class will be con‐sistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC Na onal Championship. All Juniors mee ng the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and must change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility me frame for that year has passed all par cipants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year. No entry may be changed or cancelled unless no ce of the change or cancella on is received in wri ng by the Superintendent or Show Secretary named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hour for entries, except that a correc on may be made from one age division to anoth‐er, as well as, move from Master to Open or Open to Novice if a win has been disallowed or the Junior miscalculated number of placements, provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. The Parade of Title Holders / Champions is open to all Cardigan Welsh Corgis that have a Cham‐pionship from Conforma on, Obedience, Tracking, Herding, Agility, Rally, Search and Rescue, CGC and TDI. The Parade of Therapy Dogs entered in the parade must be cer fied. (i.e. TDI, Delta Society, etc) The Parade of Rescue Dogs is open to all Cardigan Welsh Corgis who have been rescued. BRIEF NARRATIVE ON THE DOG’S ACCOMPLISHMENTS: _________________________________
The AKC Na onal Owner‐Handled Series is a non‐ tling compe on for dogs that are exhibited by their owners that are not professional handlers. • Exhibitors must declare their dog AKC Na onal Owner‐Handled Series eligible at the me of entry using the check box on the entry form. • The handler must be an owner of record according to the AKC’s records as of the date of the show. • Dogs declared eligible will be iden fied by an asterisk or other representa ve mark in the steward’s book and in the show catalog. • Professional handlers*, household members and current assistants to professional handlers may not exhibit. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full‐ me basis, or, assis ng a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. Current assistants that are eligible to compete in Junior Showmanship (meet age and amateur status requirements) may par cipate in NOHS. • Dogs must be handled by an owner‐handler eligible for the AKC Na onal Owner‐Handled Series throughout the breed level compe on for the regular show. This includes the class compe on and subsequent compe on in the breed ring. Addi onally, dogs must be handled by an eligible owner‐handler for all AKC Na onal Owner‐Handled Series compe on. • The Owner‐Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the eligible dogs that competed in the Best of Breed/Variety compe on for the regular show. This includes Winners Dog, Winners Bitch, and the undefeated winners of the non‐regular classes. This excludes all dogs defeated during class and winners compe on for the regular show. Determining Best of Breed/Variety Breed judging for the AKC Na onal Owner‐Handled Series is conducted following Best of Breed judging in each breed ring. All dogs in the BOB compe on (including WD & WB) will stay in the ring a er the judge makes their placements in BOB compe on. The ring steward will ask all professional handlers, household members of and current assistants to a professional handler, and any exhibitor that did not indicate on their entry that they were eligible for the AKC Na onal Owner‐Handled Series to leave the ring and then the judge will then select the Owner‐Handled Best of Breed. A dog being “cut” or other‐wise “defeated” in the Best of Breed ring remains eligible to compete in the AKC Na onal Owner‐Handled Series. The Owner‐Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the eligible exhibits based on the program guidelines and procedures.
Judging of the breed/variety for the regular show may determine the dog that is awarded Owner‐Handled Best of Breed. Please follow these guidelines:
• If the Best of Breed/Variety winner of the regular show is eligible for the AKC Na onal Owner‐Handled Series compe on, it will also be awarded Owner‐Handled Best of Breed. In this case the dog will be eligible to compete in group compe on for the regular show and group compe on for the AKC Na‐onal Owner‐Handled Series.
• If the regular show Best of Breed/Variety winner is not eligible for AKC Na onal Owner‐Handled Series compe on and the regular show Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety is eligible, the regular show Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety will compete against the eligible exhibits of the other sex to determine Owner‐Handled Best of Breed. • If neither the Best of Breed nor the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety from the regular show is eligible for the AKC Na onal Owner‐Handled Series compe on and both the Select Dog and Select Bitch are eligible, the judge is to choose Owner‐Handled Best of Breed from the Selects and any eligible Winners Dog or Winners Bitch. • If one of the Selects from the regular show is eligible for AKC Na onal Owner‐Handled Series compe ‐on, excuse all eligible champions and non‐regular class winners of the same sex and then choose Own‐
er‐Handled Best of Breed from the remaining eligible dogs of the opposite sex including the eligible Winners. • If the regular show Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Select Dog & Select Bitch are not eligible, the judge may choose any eligible dog who competed in Best of Breed including Winners Dog or Winners Bitch as the Owner‐Handled Best of Breed. If no dog remaining in the ring is eligible for the AKC Na onal Owner‐Handled Series compe on, Own‐er‐Handled Best of Breed will not be awarded. *Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional han‐dlers’ organiza on, distributed rate cards, or otherwise adver sed or represented themselves as han‐dling dogs for pay within the last five years.

ATTENTION EXHIBITORS Each Owner and Agent listed on the entry form and/ or individual responsible for the dog at the show is bound by the Cer fica on and Agreement on the front and back of the entry form regardless of who may have completed and submi ed the entry form. All trophies must be claimed on the day of the show. No trophies will be mailed. Remaining trophies be‐ come the property of the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America, Inc. and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America reserves the RIGHT TO SUBSTITUTE trophies for one of equal or greater value. CWCCA RULES AND REGULATIONS NOTICE TO DOG OWNERS, EXHIBITORS AND HANDLERS
When you or your agent sign the entry form, you automa cally agree to the following terms concern‐ ing your stay in any hotel or motel during the dura on of our Specialty. Exhibitors with recrea onal vehicles should follow the rules as applicable. These rules have been established for the good of all exhibitors and to help maintain good rela onships between the dog show community and hotel and motels. 1. Plas c shee ng MUST be placed under every crate in a hotel/motel room. This will keep carpets clean and dry. It is the responsibility of each exhibitor to provide their own plas c shee ng. 2. Dogs must be crated when owner is out of the room. NO EXCEPTIONS! 3. Dogs must be kept on leash at all mes while in the hotel/motel , lobbies or on the hotel/motel grounds with the excep on of dogs in exercise pens or performance dogs prac cing, warming up or trialing. 4.Under no circumstances can adhesive tape, tacks or any kind of s cky adhesives be used on the guest room doors. 5. No grooming or bathing of dogs in any guestroom. Bathing may only be done in the designated bathing area. Exhibitors must supply their own shampoo and towels. Hotel/motel towels may not be used for bathing dogs. 6. The hotel/motel management may choose to remove all bedspreads from guestrooms occupied with dogs. Guests should provide sheets or covers for all beds and sofas or chairs in their rooms to avoid significant dog hair accumula on on the furniture. 7. Hotel/motel guests are requested to voluntarily report damages when and if they occur. Rooms will be inspected daily by members of the hotel/motel staff & observed viola ons or damages will be re‐ported to the hotel/motel management and/or the Show Commi ee. 8. Dogs should only be “exercised” in designated areas on motel premises. Every dog owner is expected to pick up a er their own dog(s) & dispose of waste in designated trash cans. Failure to do so should be reported to the Specialty Inves ga ve Commi ee. Observe “no dogs” posted areas. It is the responsibility of the dog owner/ agent to find out from the hotel’s staff where these areas and cans are located if not clearly marked. Do not allow your dog to urinate or defecate on the hotel/motel build‐ings, or on the landscaped areas of the hotel. 9. Due to health regula ons and the presence of non‐dog owning guests at the host hotel, dogs are not allowed near food service areas or any area posted as prohibited. No dogs are allowed in the restau‐rant, lounge, pool or pool area, fitness center, mee ng rooms (without club approval) or public restrooms. 10. Do not let your dog become a nuisance to your neighbor. There will be non‐dog guests at the hotel. Excessive barking will be reported to the Specialty Inves ga ve Commi ee and repeat violators may be asked to leave. 11. RV parking will be in an area designated by the hotel. RV parking at the specialty host hotel/ motel is by prior reserva on only. The specialty host hotel/motel will provide each RV staying on site with a Parking Permit. 12. RV’s are expected to keep their parking area neat and clean at all mes. 13. Each dog owner/agent/RVer/guest is expected to cooperate with the hotel/motel and/or Specialty Inves ga ve Commi ee. 14. Dog owners/agents/room registrants will be financially responsible for damage to hotel/motel rooms caused by their dog(s) or themselves. This includes, but not limited to replacement cost for carpe ng if odors or stains cannot be removed by tradi onal cleaning methods. 15. Dog owners/ agents/room registrants/RVers are expected to se le damage claims on the spot,

or else must be willing to furnish informa on, such as insurance policy numbers & other per nent informa on as required/ requested. 16. Any guest found not to be following the above rules may be asked to leave the hotel/motel without a refund. Should a hotel/ motel, for cause, deem it necessary to cancel room privileges, the registrant agrees to forgo legal ac ons against the CWCCA & the hotel/motel. 17. Exhibitors understand and agree that viola ons may be referred to the Event Commi ee if wri en charges are preferred. If such charges are upheld by the Event Commi ee, it may lead to suspension from future show privileges. 18. Hotels/motels have the right to charge a deposit (refundable or nonrefundable). The Specialty Inves ga ve Commi ee, working in a fair and impar al manner, is charged with inves ga ng com‐plaints and will work closely with the Host hotel/motel Staff and Event Commi ee to en‐ force the above rules. Prompt and decisive ac on will be taken in the case of rule viola ons. Depending on the severity of misconduct, disciplinary ac ons may include charges against CWCCA members filed with the CWCCA Board of Directors or charges under American Kennel Club rules, which would be handled by the Event Commi ee ac ng as a Trial Board under the authority of the AKC. 19. The hotel/motel, Board of Directors, and/or Event Commi ee reserve the privilege of enac ng addi onal rules as situa ons require.

PURINA EVENT CENTER RULES • The CWCCA has arranged for the Purina gates to be open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. If you need to come or go between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM, you will have to call Purina Security at 636‐221‐1428 or push the bu on at the front entrance gate to request access. • Purina Event Center hours are 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM May 6‐10, 2019. The building will close at 10:00 PM on May 11, 2019. Any dog staying overnight in the grooming area MUST HAVE a notecard on its crate clearly displaying a primary AND secondary cell phone number of the owner and/ or handler in case of emergency. • RVs must vacate the lot by 9:00 AM on May 12, 2019. • Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up a er their dogs. This includes properly disposing of waste and using designated relief areas and the public x‐pen area on the east side of the Gateway Hall for all elimina on needs. • Designated sta ons throughout the facility should be used appropriately (i.e. watering sta on should not be used for waste or other materials) • Exhibitors may NOT bring or use motorized vehicles on Purina property unless a medical condi on requires the use of one. Documenta on must be presented upon request by Purina Farms staff. • All food and beverages need to be purchased through the on‐site food service and catering compa‐ny. • No outside food or beverage, or outside food service/catering company, is allowed on the Purina Farms property. Bo led water can be brought in for judges and workers only. Any Club in viola on will be reported to the AKC. Each Club is expected to enforce the no food and beverage policy among ex‐hibitors and vendors. Any exhibitors in viola on will be asked to remove the food and beverage and if it happens again, then the individual will be reported to the AKC. • No dogs are allowed, except for service dogs: In the Checkerboard Café, on the second floor of the Purina Event Center (unless given prior permission) and in any restroom or human bathing area. • All dogs are required to be on‐leash at Purina Farms at all mes (except when crated or as required to be judged) • No swimming (dogs &/or people) allowed in any ponds on the property Purina asks that you stay within the designated show site, which is within 100 yards of the Purina Event Center. NO smoking in and around buildings. No hun ng or swimming is allowed. Weapons of any kind, illegal drugs and fire‐works are not permi ed on the premises. • No parking is allowed in the following areas: Fire lanes, inside either Hall or on the sidewalks leading into either Hall except where loading and unloading is designated. • Driving or parking on any grass or sidewalks at Purina Farms is prohibited. All exhibitors must abide by the 15‐minute unloading/loading parking me limit designated around the Purina Event Center. No parking or driving on any grass at Purina. • Only non‐commercial vehicles (Maximum 2) affiliated with the RVs parked in the same spot as the RV

will be allowed in the RV lot. Any cars not affiliated with the RVs in the spots will be asked to move or be towed at the owner’s expense. • No duct tape may be used in the building. No helium balloons allowed in either Hall. • No exercise pens allowed around the front and back of the Purina Event Center or the grassy area adjacent to the East side of the Gateway Hall. Overall, exercise pens around the perimeter of the en re building are strongly discouraged. Any exercise pens on designated grassy areas should NOT have a flooring/covering to prevent damage to the grass. Please follow direc ons at the show site given by the show commi ee for your private x‐pens. • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult, when on the grounds (including Purina Farms Visitor’s Center). • Exhibitors accept personal liability with respect to any claim made in respect to any damage or injury caused by their dog/s or dogs in their possession. • No selling of puppies or dogs on the premises. • All exhibitors and their dogs must remain on the part of the property owned by Purina Farms. Trespassing on Purina Animal Nutri on property is forbidden. Purina Farms and Purina Animal Nutri‐on are not affiliated. This extends approximately 100 yards from the Event Center. No use of any of
the exhibit areas out of doors is allowed. • Special Notes: Purina Event Center staff reserves the right to refuse entry to any party/person or animal and retains the right to remove any person or persons and/or any animal from the premises in order to ensure the safety of any and all visitors and dogs. Exhibitors indemnify Purina, the affiliated person/s or businesses conduc ng the Show or Trial, against any and all claims of arising that may be leveled against them, jointly or severally, in respect to any damage, injury or loss to persons, pets and/or property. • In the event a severe weather or tornado warning is issued for the immediate area, Site Security will no fy the Purina Farms management team. The team will no fy guests, par cipants and exhibi‐tors of an impending weather event via the public address system inside the building and via the storm siren and announcements outside the building. Guests, visitors and exhibitors will be asked to seek cover in place in designated areas. Designated areas to seek cover, marked as severe weather shelter areas, include the center hallway of the Purina Event Center, the inside wall of Gateway Hall and the South stairwell. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH IN‐TERNATIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS.
A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). A $3.50 AKC Recording Fee will be required for the first entry in Rally and $3.00 for each additional entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 5). A $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in 4‐6 Month Beginner Puppy. These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club.
RETURNED CHECKS / INVALID CREDIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry. The Superintendent will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check and credit card. Subsequent returned checks and credit card from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a cash‐only basis. Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.
No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturb‐ances, fire, extreme and or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent.
No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made.
Refunds made for cancellation of entries before the closing date will be subject to a $3.00 administrative/processing fee per entry.
No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable.

Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor the Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up the class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings.
Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.
The show giving club, the Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc., assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children. PUBLICATION RIGHTS By entering this show, all owners, handlers, breeders and kennels agree that all rights to televise, videotape, photograph, advertise, promote and publicize or otherwise exploit this show, or the persons or animals participating in it or the results of the competition before, during or after the event, shall belong solely to The American Kennel Club and their respective assigns, including the use of the names, likenesses or biograph‐ical matter of all dogs, owners, handlers, breeders and kennels participating in the show and no such owner, handler, breeder or kennel shall allow any other party to make commercial use of any videotape or photograph of any person or animal participating in this competition.

AGREEMENT I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. INSTRUCTIONS 1. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varie es for show purposes, please designate the par c‐ular variety you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, par ‐color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in., over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard).
2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed compe on: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owners’ records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed compe on is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.
3. (Event Class) Consult the classifica on in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addi on to designa ng the class, specify the par cular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e, age division, color division, weight division.
4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the me entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed a er the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registra on cer fi‐cate indica ng that the dog is recorded in his name. 5. Mixed Breed dogs entering classes for Agility, Obedience. and Rally trials should mark Breed as AKC Canine Partners Listed Dog “All American Dog/Mixed Breed.” Variety, Breeder, Sire, Dam informa on shall remain blank for mixed breed entrants.
