The Hudson Riverfront Performing Arts Center, Inc. (HRPAC) is a New Jersey-based 501-C-3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to expand and enhance the arts in North Hudson with the goal of someday building a performance space on the spectacular Hudson River waterfront in Weehawken, New Jersey.

Through its two free concert series, Summer Concerts on the Hudson and the UBS Atrium Series, HRPAC has developed an excellent track record for bringing fine and diverse programming to our region and for sharing its programs with the area’s youth through arts education outreach. HRPAC has presented hundreds of performing artists to thousands of fans, and even had the honor of featuring many Grammy and Tony Award-winning artists. It has also brought educational programs, free of charge, to thousands of students in eight of Hudson County’s school districts.

Award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter and pianist Laila Biali has toured with Grammy winners Chris Botti, Paula Cole, and Suzanne Vega, and recorded with pop icon Sting. Her accolades include “SOCAN Composer of the Year” and “Keyboardist of the Year” at Canada’s National Jazz Awards. She takes the best of pop, rock, classical, world, and soul, informs it with her expertise in jazz, and weaves it into compelling musical arrangements and captivating original songs. Laila has presented her music at prestigious venues spanning five continents including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Tokyo’s Cotton Club, Peru’s El Festival Internacional de Lima, and Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Her studio recording, Tracing Light, received a JUNO nomination in 2011 for “Best Vocal Jazz Album of the Year”, and her follow-up album, Live in Concert, was named one of the “Best Albums of 2013” by DownBeat Magazine. In 2015, Laila released her first album of entirely original music, House of Many Rooms, with guest artists Lisa Fischer, Jo Lawry, Alan Hampton, and the Toronto Mass Choir. Laila just released her newest album, Laila Biali, which features original songs alongside covers of David Bowie, Coldplay, and more.

“She is an exciting and unique talent, and I admire her greatly.” — Sting

“Biali has a voice that makes the listener shudder, it is so rounded and pure.” — Montreal Gazette

Trumpeter Dominick Farinacci was given the title Global Ambassador to Jazz at Lincoln Center by Wynton Marsalis, in recognition of his work to help integrate jazz into communities around the world. After his graduation from The Juilliard School in 2005, his career was launched in Japan. He has eleven albums to his credit, the most recent of which, Short Stories, was produced by legendary record producer Tommy LiPuma. Dominick has performed in more than 120 cities in fourteen countries around the world. He has been a featured guest on ABC’s Good Morning America, and is a TED Speaker. Music icon Quincy Jones says of Dominick’s accomplishments in performance, recording, education, and advocacy,

“This kid is 360 degrees!”

“A trumpeter of abundant poise.” — New York Times
