Buddy Club This unique LBC opportunity allows friendships to
form and blossom between regular education and
special education students. They participate in
Project Unity and Special Olympics together. All
these students enjoy their times together and
learn much from one another .

Academics • English I EOC Exam - 100% passed
• Algebra I EOC Exam - 100 % passed
• LBC offers 5 subjects for high school credit:
English I, Algebra I, Spanish I, Keyboarding,
and Computer Apps. • In the 6th & 7th grade Gi�ed and Talented
program, GT students have created weather
instruments. They have researched and
created solar cookers. They have researched
and learned about the plants and animals
native to SC, and have completed an iPad
picture taking scavenger hunt on the school
grounds to find & photograph examples of
those plants.
Synergistic Lab LBC’s General Education students visit the lab
throughout the year with their teachers. They
enjoy exploring modules including: Engines,
Forensic Math, CNC Manufacturing, Plastics and
Polymers, Energy Power and Mechanics,
Environmental Math, Water Management, Home
Makeover, Bioengineering, Engineering Bridges,
Weights and Measurements, Robots, Computer
Graphics/Animation, CAD, Statistical Analysis,
Package Design, and Hotel Management.
Field Trips and Guest Speakers
LBC students were able to participate in
several enriching events. 1st Sergeant
Conrad Kaluzny and US Navy officer Patrick
Toohey were guest speakers at our Veteran’s
Day program. In addition, the 2016 Wendy’s
Heisman National Winner, Ms. Frelicia
Tucker, was the guest speaker at our Black
History program. Our chorus and strings
students performed Over the Moon for
parents and students and for the Aiken Arts
Festival. LBC English I students had the
opportunity to attend Aiken Community
Playhouse Youth Wing performance of
Romeo and Juliet. Seventh grade had
Engineering guest speakers from Savannah
River Site. Two LBC teachers became
trained and successfully lead our first year of
Pro-team, the middle school version of
Teacher Cadet.
Our Purpose The mission of Langley-Bath-Clearwater Middle
School is to deliver quality instruction that fosters
high academic achievement and social development,
preparing our students for 21st Century careers and
lifelong learning in a safe, nurturing environment in
collaboration with the home and community.
Our Direction
We at Langley-Bath-Clearwater Middle School
seek to prepare our students for the 21st
Century by providing a curriculum rich in
Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and
Mathematics (STEAM). Our goal is to develop
students of character and leadership who will
become life-long learners and contributors to
society and their community. They will be well
equipped academically to pursue high school
and post-secondary education that will prepare
them for the career of their choice and to
provide solutions to tomorrow’s challenges.
Professional Development
Leader in Me, the professional learning
community of LBC read another book by
Stephen Covey, Leader in Me, as a follow-up of
last year’s book, 7 Habits of Highly Effective
People, by the same author. During the 2016-17
school year, teachers facilitated the learning of
this book in their instruction. In addition
teachers participated in STEM/STEAM
workshops provided by Aiken school district,
USCA, and SREB. They also had Mastery
Connect professional development .
Technology Updates
LBC purchased 1 3D Printer and 2 interactive
all-in-one projectors. The district also updated
all school computers to Windows 10.
Some of our Points of PRIDE Music Program
Strings - LBC is proud to be one of the few middle
schools that offers strings for 6th, 7th, and 8th
grade students. Highlights include performing for
the school and community, participating in the
Garcia All-County Orchestra Festival, and playing
with members of the Graduate Strings Ensemble
for USC Columbia and the Allant Trio from the
Julliard School of Music.
Chorus - Our Choral program performs for
assemblies such as Veteran’s’ Day, Christmas,
Black History Month, Celebration Night, and
our Spring Concert. Students also sang with the
Julliard 451 Orchestra and The Trinity on Wall
Street Choir and participated in the annual All-
County Honors Chorus.
Band - Congratulations to the LBC band for
their dedication and hard work in the pursuit of
musical excellence.

Future City: Greener City Award
During this year, LBC students participated
in a variety of clubs. They competed, planted,
harvested. broadcast, designed, photographed,
read, and discussed while they also learned,
laughed, and served. LBC clubs are a great
place to have fun and acquire leadership
skills.
