Last May’s in-person race was cancelled but we think December is the perfect time for a virtual HOT FLASH! Just enroll in the Hot Flash 5K Virtual Race and complete a 5K of running or walking and submit your time to Strictly Running. You can complete the entire 5K at one time or over several days during the month of December. When you complete the race, you will receive a unique race medal for your participation. But that’s not ALL! You can complete the race anywhere, but if you run or walk your 5K in Cayce and take your picture at a Cayce landmark, like the Timmerman Trail, the Cayce Riverwalk, next to the murals on State Street, or at Guignard Park and post it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with your race number and the hash tag #TimeforaVirtualHotFlashinCayce, we will put your entry into a gift card drawing. If you have a Santa Hat on in your picture, we’ll put you into the drawing twice! About the Woman’s Club of Cayce The proceeds of this event supports the Woman’s Club of Cayce. Organized in 1937, the mission of the Woman’s Club is to promote the community of Cayce and the health and well-being of its citizens. For 84 years, the Woman’s Club of Cayce has supported the Cayce and Lexington County community by providing a yearly scholarship for a qualified High School Senior, hosting the yearly Christmas Tree Lighting for the City of Cayce, assisting God’s Helping Hands and the Scooter Scott Project with monetary and canned good donations, making Cancer Care Caps for local cancer patients and providing funds and used books to the Friends of the Cayce-West Columbia library. The Woman’s Club of Cayce also owns a 1941 log cabin clubhouse built by the WPA. During normal times, the clubhouse is self-sufficient through rentals. However, the pandemic has limited our ability to rent it this year. Your support of the Hot Flash 5K Virtual Race helps us maintain our historic 1941 log cabin clubhouse as a community resource as well as reach our community service goals. https://www.facebook.com/HotFlash5k https://www.facebook.com/TheWomansClubOfCayce Entry Fees and Registration Individual fees are $25.
