Spring 2015

38% Increase in Overall Music Enrollment

It’s more than numbers

Beyond the increase in enrollment, the student ensembles have grown in

the quality of the music they are making, in the experience of the

rehearsal process, and the pride in performance.

We have also established a positive

professional relationship with Indian Hill Music, Manchester Choral

Society, and Mid America Productions in NYC.

Trips and Festivals Over the past two years, LA Students have attended festivals and professional performances off campus.

9 of our students were accepted to the All New England Choral Festival.

Members of our band have been accepted into the Massachusetts Music Educators Association Central District Festival.

5 members of LA Singers participated in a festival at Carnegie Hall in NYC.

Music students have attended over 6 professional and university level performances and open rehearsals.

Members of Lawrence Academy Singers at Carnegie Hall where they performed with a

festival choir on Easter Sunday, 2015.

Professional Performance Series in the Conant Gallery

To give students an enhanced exposure to professional musicians, the Professional Performance Series was created. This series is publicized and open to the public, and it is also free for students and all public attendees. Attendance is required for all students enrolled in music courses.

This series gives students personal connections with professional musicians, and it gives the public a venue to observe our facilities and our program – in other words, it gives people who do not know about Lawrence Academy a reason to come to campus.
