One Day TripIn one day you might rather walk all day, instead of getting on & off buses and tubes which is a waste of time and might be somewhat boring, if you have just one day.
What I suggest is:
Walking:
Start from Piccadilly Circus, possibily emerging from Eros’s Statue.Then go down Leicester Square, Covent Garden, down to the Thames and follow the Jubilee Walk till the City anf the Tower of London. Cross Tower Bridge and go back till Westmisnter, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey.Go down Whitehall, then The Horseguard, Buckingham Palace and then back through the Mall you’ll emerge in Trafalgar Square.
Moving:You might visit the same things, mostly, but moving via tube gives you a chance to have some stops somewhere; National Gallery and British Museum, though only from the outside, are serious candidates.
Three Day TripI’ll do the Jubilee Walk, that is the path which goes from the Big Ben to Tower Bridge in 2 days; one day per bank; which is mostly the 1 day trip multiplied per 2, which allows you to visit, though for a very short time, Covent Garden, The Tate, the National Gallery and possibily take a tour on the London Eye.I’ll devote the third day to a tour starting from Piccadilly Circus and entering the more prophane Soho, Carnaby Street, Regent Street, Oxford Street, Madame Tussauds, Hyde Park, Tottenham, British Museum walk / tour.

Gita di un giornoIn un giorno solo a Londra consiglio di non usare mezzi pubbici, ma di passare il tempo camminando; ad andare su e giu’ da autobus e dall’underground si perde un sacco di tempo e, nonostante siano entrambi mezzi estremamente rappresentativi della capitale britannica, possono essere sicuramente poco confortevoli, specie nella stagione calda.Inoltre Londra, citta’ per ora ancora molto orizzontale, e’ metropoli da girare il piu’ possibile a piedi.
Ecco il mio suggerimento per una lunghissima camminata di un giorno intero che pero’ portera’ a vedere praticamente tutto quello che c’e’ da vedere anche se, ovviamente, senza soste.Partite da Trafalgar Square, ovviamente, dando una ricca ed abbondante occhiata a tutto quello che vi circonda, dalla National Gallery ai magnifici leoni ed all’obelisco di Nelson.Prendete a destra guardando la National verso Piccadilly Circus, posto brutto e molto sporco ma assolutamente imperdibile.Lasciandovi la statua di Eros alle spalle, prendete Coventry Street e proseguite per Leicester Square, Covent Garden e giu’ verso la riva del Tamigi che seguirete fino alla City ed alla Torre di Londra.Attraversate Tower Bridge e tornate verso Westminster: sulla strada vedrete il London Bridge, lo Shard, il Globe di Shakespeare, la Tate e il London Eye: alla fine del percorso vi aspettano il Big Ben e Westminster Abbey.Risalite lungo la Whitehall, entrate nella Horseguard, poi fate tutto St.James’s Park finche’ arrivate a Buckingham Palace.Tornando per il Mall arriverete a Trafalgar Square esattamente dove avete iniziato il vostro lunghissimo giro. (circa 12 km)
Gita di tre giorni.Io farei il Jubilee Walk, cioe’ il percorso che porta dal Big Ben al Tower Bridge, in due giorni: sostanzialmente e’ lo stesso percorso del giro di 1 giorno ma diviso in due giornate, il che permette di sostare almeno a Covent Garden, la Tate, la National Gallery e fare un giro sul non indimenticabile ma ormai caratteristico London Eye.Dedicherei poi la terza giornata al giro dei parchi (almeno Hyde Park e St.James’s), giungendo li’ al pomeriggio dopo essere partiti la mattina da una breve visita al British Museum, Tottenham, Regent Street, Oxford Street, Soho con Carnaby Street e l’imperdibile Piccadilly Circus.

Giorno 2Partite da Tower Bridge e tornate verso Westminster: sulla strada vedrete il London Bridge, lo Shard, il Globe di Shakespeare, la Tate.La Tate merita una visita di almeno un’oretta; è il più grande museo di arte moderna del mondo ed ha continue novità, anche visive.Poi arrivate al London Eye, che merita un giretto, per chi non c’è mai stato.Poi, alla fine del percorso vi aspettano il Big Ben e Westminster Abbey.Risalite lungo la Whitehall, entrate nella Horseguard, poi fate tutto St.James’s Park finche’ arrivate a Buckingham Palace.Tornando per il Mall arriverete a Trafalgar Square esattamente dove avete iniziato il vostro lunghissimo giro. Giorno 3Partendo da Trafalgar Square, prendete la Whitehall e, all’altezza della Horse Guard, dove sono le famose guardie a cavallo, entrate nel cortile interno e da lì proseguite sempre dritto verso ovest attraversando tutti i parchi; St.James’s Park, poi Green Park ed infine l’enorme Hyde Park, dove dovrete visitare almeno la Serpentine, il Diana Memorial, la Serpentine Gallery, la statua di Peter Pan ed infine chiudere con i maestosi Giardini di Kensington.Il giro è lungo, ma non prevede soste turistiche, per cui all’uscita dovreste avere ancora tempo per tornare indietro con un mezzo e visitare la zona di Soho (adiacente a Piccadilly Circus), Oxford Street ed il British Museum.
