41st Street Pedestrian Bridge Project Scope of Work: The 41st Street Pedestrian Bridge is a brand new structure at this location and a twin structure to the 43rd Street Pedestrian Bridge. This project was identified as a priority during the South Lakefront Access Study and provides access every ¼ mile. RFQ for Construction Management Due: June 9, 2015

43rd Street Pedestrian Bridge Project Scope of Work: The 43rd Street Pedestrian Bridge is more than 75 years old. The existing structure carries a pedestrian walkway over Lake Shore Drive, Metra and Canadian National Railroad connecting the 43rd Street to the Lakefront Trail. This project will remove the non-accessible and deteriorated structure and replace it with a 2 span inclined arch bridge. The bridge will be fully compliant with current ADA standards and feature a pocket park at the west landing. The improvements include both architectural and safety lighting and landscaping enhancements. Oakwood Blvd Bridge over Metra and CN RR

Project Scope of Work

The Oakwood Boulevard Bridge over the Metra and Canadian National Railroad is located within the historic Burnham Park. Originally built in 1926, both the superstructure and substructure will be replaced due to the deteriorated condition.The scope of work will include complete structure replacement, increasing the deck width and replicating the architectural façade. A new sidewalk, lighting and drainage will be installed to current standards.

Current Project Status: Phase II Design

Irving Park Road Bridge over the North Branch of the Chicago River Project Scope of Work

Includes the removal and replacement of the current 95-year-old structure with a bridge in compliance with today’s bridge and roadway standards. The new bridge will match the roadway width to the west and east thereby eliminating the narrowing lanes condition.

Additionally, a pedestrian and bicycle underpass bridge will be constructed to connect the path adjacent to Horner Park to the north and the existing path to the south. RFQ for Construction Management Advertise: 4Q 2015

Funding Source: FHWA/IDOT

Current Project Status: Phase II Design

Program Manager ConsultantPMC: will provide engineering services to CDOT in support of its city-funded infrastructure improvement projects.

This one contract will replace the eight (8) expiring construction management contracts for the CIC Program (Formally RCMA) and CCE Program.

Surface Transportation Planning StudiesCDOT is responsible for conducting planning studies for all forms of surface transportation

Consultants responding to the RFQ will perform tasks in one or more of the following categories:

1) public & intercity passenger planning, 2) roadway, traffic and parking planning and data collection, 3) bicycle and pedestrian planning, 4) freight and maritime planning, and 5) legislative and policy planning

CDOT Quality Assurance/Quality ControlScope: The management of the QA/QC Program for the Department includes managing and scheduling the physical material inspection on concrete, asphalt, structural steel, precast/prestressed concrete; monitoring and Independent Assurance program; developing and implementing training as needed; and the development of new specifications and forensic testing and investigation as required.
