Optical Distribution Types

Type 3 distribution, commonly known as “Bat-Wing”, is best utilized where the luminaire is placed to the side allowing light to project forward to cover a large area. Great for general parking areas.

Type 4 distribution, commonly known as “Forward Throw”, provides semicircular distribution and is best utilized along perimeters where spill light is a concern.

Type 5 distribution provides square distribution where light is extended at all angles. Primarily utilized where luminaire is mounted in the center of a roadway or parking area.

Type III

Type 2 distribution provides similar distribution as Type 1, however, it is wider in the front. Great for lighting larger areas and where the luminaire is near the roadside.

Type V

Type IType 1 distribution provides lateral distribution in two opposite directions. This distribution type is generally utilized where the luminaire is in the center and light is required for narrow pathways.
