What Is Lent ?
• Lent is a time of forgiveness and fasting.• Lent is when you prepare for Easter.• Lent lasts for 40 days because Jesus was
tempted by the devil for 40 days in the desert.
• The colour the priest wears at the time of lent is purple.
• Lent starts with Ash Wednesday.• At Lent most Christians go to confession.

Shrove Tuesday
• Shrove Tuesday is also known as Pancake day.
• Shrove comes from the old word shrive, which means confess.
• Shrove Tuesday isn't part of lent but its important because Christians confess on this day to get their sins washed away before lent.
• It is traditional to eat pancakes on this day.

• Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. • On Ash Wednesday Christians go to
church and the priest makes the sign of the cross on your forehead.

• Jesus washed the feet of his disciples because it was an example of being humble, and also to get sins washed away.

• Jesus was crucified and then buried.• In church we do the station of the cross.
